sskybnd
driving home tonight the thought hit me where did the indians uptain the knowledge for the bow, the more i thought the more it didnt seem to fit, the romans had it way back in bc. but how could worlds away have the same knowlege of a weapon, so i called a history teacher i know, she took me down the evolutionary road, and said as we involed from ag and ug [lanins term], she used nathandethal [ speeling?] and such, and we all came out of africa and walked acorss the ice bridge, and when it melted they were stuck here, and the other countrys kept evolving to be able to use metal and such, i dont beleave in evolution but think it was more of devine intervention. whats your thoughts on it ? if you think her way than you must beleave we evolved. Adjam5
I think man eventually knew throwing rocks and sticks at animals would only go so far in putting meat on the fire. Man is one keen animal, and eventually the spear throwing evolved into the stick n string. I do believe also that tribes and other groups fought and weapons were captured. Ethan Givan
I think its logical to assume that both groups invented it on there own without all that evolving, ice bridge stuff. The indians and the europeans are both humans, with brains so they both have the same mental capacity. So they both figured out a more efficient way of hunting. Why couldnt there have been two inventions by two groups of people of the same tool? I think evolution as a whole is total BS. I think adaption can shape the way a species behaves over thousands of years, but there is no way all life on this planet started from a one celled organism. Not buying that. JMO tho. Tominator
Man, y'all need to take a class in anthropology. This talk is like the conspiracy theorists that say we never walked on the moon or the nazi holocaust never happened. There is loads of irrefutable empirical evidence that man evolved through simple trial and error. God set it all into motion, billions of years ago.
buckee
I don't believe in the "theory" of evolution either. God said "let there be" and there was. Here's your answer below. The Tower of Babel - Story Summary: Up until this point in the Bible, the whole world had one language - one common speech for all people. The people of the earth became skilled in construction and decided to build a city with a tower that would reach to heaven. By building the tower they wanted to make a name for themselves and also prevent their city from being scattered. God came to see their city and the tower they were building. He perceived their intentions, and in His infinite wisdom, He knew this "stairway to heaven" would only lead the people away from God. He noted the powerful force within their unity of purpose. As a result, God confused their language, causing them to speak different languages so they would not understand each other. By doing this, God thwarted their plans. He also scattered the people of the city all over the face of the earth. Points of Interest from the Story: • When God speaks in this story, He uses the phrase, "let us go," referencing the trinity. • Some scholars believe that this marks the point in history where God divided the earth into separate continents. • God says in Genesis 11:6, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them." (NIV) God realizes that when people are unified in purpose they can accomplish impossible feats, both noble and ignoble. This is why unity in the body of Christ is so important. • To build, the people used brick instead of stone and tar instead of mortar. They used "man-made" materials, instead of more durable "God-made" materials. The people were building a monument to themselves, to call attention to their own abilities and achievements, instead of giving glory to God. MCH
I'm with Chris on this one. Evolution was just a tool God used to get us where we are now and continues to use daily.
elkoholic
This is a post that will have some people working up a real lather. We are still evolving, so, how can one not believe in evolution? The Bible is a fine story, full of murder, rape, incest and just about every other calamity one could imagine. It is written by man (many men?) and very poorly translated with many a twisted interpretation. No one knows the answer to how it all began, yes we have our beliefs, but the evidence is undeniable that evolution is a given. As far as how things are discovered, most of the time it is serendipity.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Bows were first used in Europe and the Middle East as long as 40,000 years ago. The first people to immigrate from Asia over to North America about 10,000 years ago for some reason didn't possess that technology. Instead they used the atlatl as their primary projectile weapon. It wasn't until about 5000 years ago that the Native Americans independently invented the bow and arrow.
