Flintlock1776
I am still thinking about getting a Cross Bow for the season coming up. The prices range from $250 up to $1,000 and beyond. Although my budget would likely keep me in the $400-$500 range for the CB only my question is of you had to pick one brand what would it be? So, I'll put a poll up as well just to see where people's opinion seem to fall for CB's under $500. Thanks for your participation. I'll let you know what I get as the money is burning a hole in my pocket:jaw:
RangerClay
You forgot the Excalibur line-up. They are the finest crossbow out there right now.

RangerClay
I must have missed that going through Cabelas line up:pop: I was shopping for crossbow a few years back. After trying an Excalibur I was sold on them. Shoot Muff a PM about his crossbow. Btw, Bass Pro Shops sells Excalibur. They don't call Excalibur crossbows "Dragon Slayers" for nothing. Flintlock1776
I have not pulled the trigger yet but the wait to spend that wad of cash in the wallet is killing me. No time to get out shopping but maybe Labor Day sales will have something good to offer.
jbeck
Here is mine, love the bow. JMO I put on string leaches and simms limb savers and it got pretty quiet.
Flintlock1776
I finally bought the cross bow and the Pro Shop will have it ready for me next Saturday all set up and shot in at his indoor range. I was very tempted to get different brands and the new one making all the news however, their warranty is only for 5 years. What caught my attention was the recommendations of some buddies that actually had a certain type of bow; DFI capability of the CB and and the bow's LIFETIME warranty and the fact I knew with any bow you need a lot of additional do-dads to be fully equip equipped. My overall budget was limited so the combination of what I selected with the extras all within my budget is what closed the deal. So, combined with buying it at a Pro Shop vs. Big box and getting basically a 'starter' cross bow I am good to go. I got the bow, rope cocker and 6 bolts with field points and the pro setting & sighting up the bow for $350 all in. The crossbow? Parker Bushwacker 150. With the cost of the bow, cocker, bolts I was also able to get RED HOT High Velocity Crossbow Arrow; RED HOT String Wax and Barrel Lubricant; Crosspro 100 FX Broadheads; and Morrell Yellow Jacket X-Bow F/P Target; and a Protector Hard Crossbow Case. To make this all tasty are the 2 big bucks that have been coming into by back yard of late. I'll miss opening weekend here due to FD duty but the season will be here for me in 3 weeks and I am pumped!!
