Turkeygirl
I think I might get a new bow...Had my current bow 5 years. Was shooting last night, getting my new sight adjusted. Don't know why but without the peep tubing, something seems noiser...My quiver was a little loose so fixed that, will shoot it today. Anyway I kept moving my pins up, arrows kept hitting high, then I moved the actual sight up a tad and that seemed to fix it. Was not grouping as great as I used to though, maybe just form related, my arm got tired, I kept fiddling with my release sensivity and length. The TruGlo sight is really bright and nice. After being around a Mathews all summer though and seeing how fast and smooth that thing was, it makes me think about a Mathews next year, or just in general a new bow that is smoother, more forgiving. I feel like I've "outgrown" my Hoyt Rintec XL. Anyway not sure what it was yesterday but going to shoot again and hpefully shoot better. Felt like I wasn't relaxed and rushing my shots and holding the bow too long, etc..etc...
Turkeygirl
Oh, good news is my peep stayed in place, did not budge:-D
Guest bowhunter56
Lots of good bows out there, I shot quite a few working at basspro, but i would still say mathews is #1 that i have shot, next i liked bowtech, diamond, the new G5 bows are nice, when it's time, shoot as many as you can, but if you can afford a mathews and shoot one, you will be amazed. Ethan Givan
Check out the new Mathews Z7. As soon as you pick one up, you will like it. Im hoping to buy a new bow next year and thats what Im probably gonna get. Its fast and smooth. I was drooling over one 2 days ago at the archery shop. sskybnd
the way mathews is advancing in the bow making, theres no telling what bow they will have for next year,if mine wasnt so new 3 years old, i would get the z7 also. i think you would like the z7 turkeygirl its real a light bow. Turkeygirl
Maybe by waiting till next year, the price will go down on the z7,lol. Yeah, my bow is a bit on the hefty side, so to have a lighter bow would be nice, not to mention a better grip. I think my grip has gotten a little on the small side...makes it harder to grip. I've done just fine though with my Hoyt so I'll take her through this season, see what she brings down:)
RangerClay
Hey Ruth! If you want to try out a really nice bow, check out the Elite bows. I was at the bow shop the other night and had a chance to draw one. They have this amazing let-off. You will swear that you are not holding anything back at all. If I had the money I would have one tomorrow. Give them a try before you buy any bow.
Jeramie
Every now and again I get that bug. I shoot the same bow for several years and then want to go shopping. I picked one up last year so it will be a few years before I even think about it. Keep in mind that string stretch and wear will throw off your shots! If the string is old the wear can mess things up. If youve replaced it the stretch and really make a difference.
Turkeygirl
Yeah The string I have on, was a custom I got 2-3 years ago I think. Still in decent shape. Even the guy at a bow shop said it was a really good string (thanks Bucknasty). Figure if I'm going to go new string, I'll get a new bow. So for this season, we'll see what the ol' Hoyt puts down then start looking after the first of the year.. I figure that's when all the 2011 bows will be out and maybe prices will come down on 2010...Or the fact that who knows what 2011 bow will be out! Rhino
Could be the bushings in your bow have some excess wear to them too.

This is what I shoot and like I've said before I've shot the mathews and hoyt's and the only bow I would consider switching for is the carbon matrix. Not the mention the have a untouchable warranty!
