13littleones
I am shooting with a release for the first time. My problem....Due to the long time habbit, from time to time i try to release the arrow with my fingers instead of pulling the trigger on the release and have cranked 3 of my carbon arrows into the concrete wall downstairs...the arrows appear to be fine, although the knocks shatter....????? SHOULD I THROW THE 3 ARROWS AWAY?????? THANKS !

lil hunter
Re: Growing pains.. I would have to recomend through them away. There could be cracks running on the inside of the arrow. You don't want them to explode one day when your shooting.
tedicast
Re: Growing pains.. If you flex a damaged carbon arrow it will break on you. I flex test my Gold Tips any time I have arrow contact, or a questionable shot.
Washi
Re: Growing pains.. If you are going to shoot them put new nocks in and pull the nock to the side while looking for cracks in the nock end of the arrow.
Chrud
Re: Growing pains.. I give my arrows a quick look-over after every shot. But, if I hit something hard, I spend a lot more time than usual looking over it. Look at everything from the insert to the nock. Cracks, splinters, anything. Then, flex it. If nothing appears to be wrong, you'll probably be ok. If you have any doubt, even if it is "is that a crack or not?", throw it away. RJJ
Re: Growing pains.. i would look them over very carefully. if you don't trust them give them to the trash man. good luck.

Tominator
Re: Growing pains.. Todd covered it pretty good, but I'd add that maybe you should try a relax trigger type release. Winn Free C-12 I think it is, and there are others of this type out there. Essentially, these releases work opposite of normal releases. Instead of pulling the trigger, you hold it, and when you let go of the trigger it lets go of the string. I've had a relax trigger release now for over 8 years I think.
