Well got my license...was denied for my 2nd DMP a 2nd year in a row as well.....Got my first choice at least. I feel $10 for DMPs is such a rip-off.

Hey Joe, with the lifetime, do you know if you still have to pay each year for DMPs?

I may get my lifetime next year....

Ruth...Joes Dad here...:)

NYSDEC changed the law regarding free DMP permits for lifetime license holders last year. DMP's are free with lifetime sportsman licenses ONLY if they were purchased prior to Oct 09. Sorry :(.

See here. http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/56325.html

All of our lifetime tags got here today in the mail. They are yellow again. Myself, Joe and my other 2 sons(AJ n Mike) all have had lifetime licenses since they were under 5 ;). Got them for $250 . Now they are $765. One of the last bargains in NY. Bought mine the 1st year they came out( I think in 96) for $500. Added the lifetime archery soon thereafter($180 then, now $235) and last year before the tags went up, added the lifetime muzzleloading another ($180, now $235). I am holding off on the lifetime trapper license. It is up to $395:hammer1:

I highly recommend getting a lifetime license if you can swing it. Tags will ONLY go up. A few great features are..if you move out of NYS...you can still draw resident tags, the license is always valid. Tags come in mail, except for DMP's(still have to apply for them).

Lifetime license info.

BTW...Ruth...How is the wrist feeling?
