Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Anyone here shoot an Elite? I think one of these might be my next bow. I really like the Z28 and the GT500. Went across the street today and looked around. I'll be buying a new bow within the next month or so and it is between those two and the Mathews Z7. I'll have to shoot them one more time to see, but wanted to see what everyone else likes/dislikes about theirs.
hoosierhunter
I shoot the GT500. The only bow I've shot that I would switch for is the carbon matrix and I"m not paying to do that. I've shot the Z7 and the Maxxis as well. Basically all these bows are great bows and really there isn't any difference between them. It's just personal preference. I don't think this bow is as fast as advertised though. I would recommend shooting bows side by side and see what you like best. Don't listen to what the sales rep says because he's going to steer your towards his preference. Good luck...

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I shoot the XLR....I love their bows! Wish I had gotten the GT500 though! I USED to shoot Mathews.....:ninja: Funny, I am shooting a Mathews right now and might be switching I don't plan on getting rid of it though. I have an extra sight, so if/when I do change I can just take my extreme sight off of my switchback and put it on the new one for now and set the switchback up with my copper john and I'll have a backup bow. I thought about it earlier and the only things I will have to buy for the new bow are a rest and stabilizer. It is one of those thing where I love they way they all shoot, but there are things about each one I like over the others. For instance the Z7 seemed a hair lighter than the Z28, but I like the grips on the Elites a bit better. And while I like the shorter axle-to-axle the Z28 has, I like the extra little bit of speed from the GT500 (although with my short 27 inch draw it won't be much of a difference). huntinsonovagun
My buddy and I were shooting last week (he has a switchback) and we switched bows for a shot....I remember when the SB was THE bow to have, but it doesn't hold a candle to my Elite. I couldn't believe the vibration differences!! The grips alone would be reason enough for me to switch! The GT500 has plenty of speed, plus a little more A-to-A. Either way, I don't think you'll regret switching to Elite....I don't regret the switch at all!!
