The_Kat
Just what this country needs! Might as well put a statue of Osama Bin Laden flipping the bird and aiming it at the ground zero memorial while their at it.
Dakota
I agree with you 100%, Kyle. If memory serves (I was 11 at the time) there was a Greek Orthodox church that was destroyed in the attack and they wouldn't let them rebuild down there. And now they're building a mosque?! What a slap in the face to every American soldier defending this country! We're (our looney liberal President) allowing it to be taken from the inside out, folks! Flintlock1776
My wife lost 3 family members. I lost FD guys. Don't get me started. The president is waffling on this point. Disgusting situation.
Dakota
I think that he'll be impeached if Americans come out and vote in November. It'll be an almost totally new congress and will not be looking too kindly on the president. One thing's for sure, he won't get re-elected I can promise you that! Woo-hoo on that note! Stinger-Hunter
I say let them build it - but secretly line the drywall with C-4 and then at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, blow that MoFo to the ground and then send a few nukes over to IRAN, AFGHAN, and PAKISTAN. I say about 8-10 each. That's first order of business the minute I'm elected president.
wtnhunt
Disgusting that this was ever being considered to be allowed, quite disturbing that it is going to be allowed to go through.

Newarcher
When the president quipped during an interview that 'according to my muslim faith....err I mean Christian faith' he said it all. Not once in my lifetime did I accidentally refer to myself as a muslim or mormon or anything else. I wonder about the quality of the President's handlers to let him do this. I guess the community organizer couldn't help himself. For crying out loud, the landing gear of the plan used against the Twin Towers destroyed part of the building they intend to use as this mosque. That makes this building as part of the attacks and should be preserved as so. Let obama and the dems hang this albatross around their necks. This is just one of the very significant ways that amabo and the dems are completely on the wrong side of the voters. It should be a bloodbath in November. No one would say a word if it was a church being built. Nope I sure wouldn't. It wasn't Christians that flew those planes into the WTC's, it was Muslims. Yes according to the Constitution they have the freedom to worship who/how they choose and they have the right to build a place of "worship" but I don't agree with it being right next to the foot prints of the WTC's. Adjam5
as much as i hate the idea of it being built there ya kinda agree with this statement here. No one would say a word if it was a church being built. A church, Temple or Christians did NOT commit a terrorist act against America. This is not about freedom of religion or the freedom to practice a religion. This is about sensitivity that MUST go both ways. It would be like erecting a memorial to Japan at Pearl Harbor, or one to Hitler at Auschwitz. There is a NY businessman that wants to open a Gay bar next door to the Mosque and a Pork store, East of it across the street( so when they face Mecca they face the pork store). Tolerance needs to go both ways ...right?...RIGHT? America has the black eye from 9/11 and the proponents need to understand that everywhere Muslims have had a war and were the victors. They erected a Mosque at those sites. They are twisting our constitution against us. Just like the immigrants are doing with their argument on AZ immigration law. The video of the Muslims dancing in Brooklyn when the towers fell seems to have mysteriously disappeared? The media has too much power and is controlled by the libs who want to remove God from every aspect in our life here in America. I work at Ground Zero. The 9/11 Memorial to be exact. I see the protesters everyday against it, and I support them. Not one of the workers on the site support it. We even have hard hat stickers that say "NO Ground Zero Mosque". If the Muslim world wants to build bridges, say OK we understand, and want America to believe Muslims are a people of peace. They will move the Mosque not to be inflammatory and sensitive to those who lost loved ones on that fateful day. How about a Muslim memorial to the victims of Sept.11th? It will never happen. That is why they are full of it and are capitalizing on the liberal POS's we have in the Whitehouse, Congress and the Senate. This will cost many politicians their job come November. NY's lame duck Governor Patterson offered a state property nearby as an alternative site. The developer said he has no intention of moving the project. The_Kat
Theres no way this thing should be built here. Something needs to be done about it. If the government fails, then the citizens need to take it into their own hands. The Obama admin and the dems have made it clear with the healthcare bill that they don't give two turds about what the American people want or think. What can we do besides wait until November to boot them out? I say if they start to build it....burn it!!!!
bowhuntMN
Not only is it insensitive what they're doing, but the Imam that's spear heading this operation is the leader of a known terrorist organization (the name escapes me right now). When asked about this tie to terrosism, he beat around the bush and said something about terrorism coming in many forms. He has also published a book that is about the spread of Islam throughout America starting at Ground Zero post 9/11 and is a huge supporter of Sharia Law (not good for you, American women). This obviously shows that it is more than a need to practice Islam in NYC. If simply practicing Islam was their true intention, they would've easily found a different location for this "Islamic Community Center". Jeramie
Just more proof that the people of America are mostly concerned with the popularity contest Kyle. We elected Obama because people that he was Cool. Now we (as a country) get to pay the price. One thing's for sure, he won't get re-elected I can promise you that! Only if the GOP pulls their head out of their rear and finds a decent candidate... I like Sarah but she is not strong enough to be President or at least not strong enough to be elected. Two words: Condalisa Rice -- Black, Woman, and strong. That would be making history and we wouldnt have all of this garbage going on like we do with the current administration. Dakota
All I'm saying is this, it says in the Declaration of Independence that the American people have the DUTY to overthrow a government that refuses to acknowledge the voice of the American people and denies them their God-given rights. The voices of the people are crying, "No Mosque and NO OBAMA!" We have the duty folks, it's time we did something about. I'll laugh if there's a sniper and swatt team waiting for me when I get home this afternoon... Under this administration, I wouldn't be surprised one bit and I guarantee you they have a hit list of other outspoken and concerned American citizens. dbHunterNY
The man is a Muslim. What would you expect????????? That he wouldn't be elected President. ...so much for that. In all seriousness... I voted against him, but after the election, I truely wanted him to be one of the best Presidents we've seen. Him being president is going to aways be a part of history people remember. Unfortunately, so many choices he's made has bothered me, including the first ladie's ridiculously lavish spending sprees I've heard about. More so, this mosque deal really bothers me. What was there should be able to be rebuilt. If not, only to make room for a memorial. When I say memorial, I mean something simplistic that symbolizes America as a whole. It should not favor any one of the various cultures that compose America today.
