gzilla45
Well I made a mistake and left my bow stored in the basement over the summer. It was in the case and didn't rust or anything but it stinks like basement now. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the smell? I'm hoping that leaving it out in the air will help it. I am an idiot and won't do this again. :bang:
Jeramie
Likely leaving it out will help greatly. Just make sure you dont have any damage to the string and cables. Blowing one up will be a very bad thing. Then again, keep in mind that wood rots and moisture gathers under things in the woods. Even a slight hint of mold shouldnt spook deer. gzilla45
Fortunately outside of the smell, there is nothing wrong. No mold or rust that I can see. I checked the inside of my case thoroughly and there isn't anything in there either. Hopefully leaving sit out for a few weeks will fix the problem. Jeramie
It should air out pretty good. However, just keep an eye on that string. It likely is ok but without something to keep the inside of the case dry it could have some rotting or slight damage. You likely wont have any problems but having a bow blow up does not make for a good day.
gzilla45
I certainly will. Thanks for the heads up.

Stinger-Hunter
I did the same thing to mine. I'll have to get that baby out and moving again soon. After 3 years, I think I'll take it in to get looked at. Could use a professional's "once-over."
