broadheads for bear

Just. Wondering if I should go with fixed or mechs. I usually use 100 grain. Rage or grim reaper for deer. But some people say don't trust mechs on a bear. Thanks. 1 month before my hunt. Can't wait much longer!!!!!!!

Go with muzzy, they are cheep, they are like $38 for 6. I shot my bear with muzzy 3 blades, and Im only shooting 45lbs, and I made a pass threw, my bear ran 50 yards. My brother also used muzzy when he shot his bear, but he was using the 4-blades abd his bear ran 10 yards.

You can not go wrong with muzzy.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I should go with what's proven. Hopfully ill be able to let you guys know how the hunt went with some pictures of me next to a bear.

I'd go with fixed over mechanical.

I used 100 grain steelforce phatheads this past spring, but never saw a bear from the bow stand. Took 2 bears with the rifle from my ground blind.

iv shot 4 bears now with rage 100's only had one bad trip and it was my own fault. any broad head will kill a bear you just have to make the shot.

Go with what you are used to and have had luck with, your Reapers and Rage heads will be fine.

Ive killed two with spitfires and they did an awesome job. Whatever broadhead you choose, just be patient and wait for a good broadside or quartering away shot. Good shot placement and he wont go far.

i dont see any reason not to start it as long as your laws say you can. i think it would get him used to beein there..

I prefer Rage broadheads myself, but my Muzzy MX-3 100 grains are a close second! Go with whatever you are the most confident with. Granted, I've never been bear hunting with a rifle let alone archery tackle.
