sskybnd
we seem to have a few hogs running around our lease, i told my sisiter we would just drop a few hundered pounds of corn out with some hog wild on it, she didnt like the idea of that, and wants to get a hog call, ive never heard of any one using one, and was just wanting to see if any of you have, and if they work. bfletch7441
Don't know about the call. I've always used a bait. If you need help killing them let me know! Ben
redkneck
Don't waste your money on a hog call. Diesel fuel, corn, and a trap will get you a long ways. PM me if you need details.

I always made my own bait. get a five gallon bucket and fill it 3/4 with corn, couple bottles of cheap beer, and fill it up to the top of the corn with water. Put the lid on and sit it out in the sun. Everyday take off the lid and stir. do this for about 5 days and you'll have some good fermented corn. Hogs will smell it from long ways. Perfect bait. Sour corn is great, they also like mayonaise, or use cool aid to sour your corn. I've just found that they love deisel fuel, and that keeps the majority of your coons out of the corn. Coons like sour corn big time.

I never tried it though. On my 80 acres I killed or trapped over 50 hogs in a 3 year period. Then one day they just all disappeared. Ate a lot of hog meat during those 3 years. glad they are gone though.

sskybnd
ok im open for sugestions now, redneck pm on the way.. they are gaining on us right now, we had a few and that few went to 6, and for using a call i sat with my sister who went a bought one, just to apease her and we sat in the blind from 6 pm till midnight. nothing came in at all, even though the cam said they were coming in from 7pm to all hours of the night, when she let the call out, i like to fell out of the blind in laughter if i was a hog and heard that i would think another hog is getting his butt kick in an allfull way and wouldnt want to come running in to get mine kicked next, so i told her we will do it my way next time, so i went and bought 100 lbs of corn and a bottle of black gold hog attrantent, as we were walking around looking for the place to set up our ambush i can across a wollow that was hugh in size and freshly worked so were going to go after them again this weekend . redkneck
PM sent sky, gimme a call tomorrow if you need some more help, I'm sure that was a little confusing. Hope the pic helps. The call I bought wasn't anything but a primos cottontail in distress with a hog pic put on it. You can work some pigs over with that trap, and it will be an awful mess inside there before long, with mud knee deep. Always keep a 22 with you, sometimes when you come up to the trap there will be little shotes all over the outside of the trap trying to get to mama, they make easy pickin and good grilling. Best of luck to you bud.
