johnf
I would really like to get a 41Mag some day. Don't know anything about handgun scopes.
redkneck
This would be my choice: TC Contender
Rhino
This would be my choice: TC Contender Ditto. With it your have the choice to use a centerfire rifle round like a 30-30.
Strut10
This would be my choice: TC Contender Nice shooter, for sure. But it may present a problem toting it around with all your bow gear. Can't go wrong with a 4" or 6" .44 Mag wheelgun. You can also shoot .44 Specials in it for ease of practice.
hunterbobb
I have always liked the Ruger Blackhawk for a hunting hand gun. It is strong, accurate and resonably priced. It is available in several calibers that are adequate for deer, 357 Mag. 41 Mag 44 Mag 45 Long Colt. It comes with adjustable sites which allow you to dial it in to shoot dead on. All of these cartriges have an effective rage of about 75 yards for deer. At that distance you probably don't need a scope but there are models available with built in scope mounts if you really must have one. The gun without a scope is reasonably compact and carries nicely in a hip holster. If you put a scope on it you will probably want a shoulder holster. Finally there are a ton of after market grips available to dress it up and make it more personal. :gun2:
