hoosierhunter
Let me preface this as IN is proposing some rule changes for the 2011 deer season. See below http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/2362.htm They are holding 5 meeting across the state because of major backlash on these rule changes. I attended a meeting on Tuesday in support of the rule b/c I want bigger deer, not because I think they need reduced like the DNR thinks, but these rules will help grow bigger deer. In my life I have never seen such a cluster **** mess of a meeting EVER!!! Somebody needs to explain to me how moving the gun season out of the rut and shortening it will reduce the deer herd because I'm a pretty sharp guy and I can't figure it out but the DNR seems to think it will.(they say it will creat multiple opening day effects for hunters) Also their excuse for not doing earn-a-buck across the board is that there will be too much public fallout like what happened in Wisconsin. So your more worried about people complaining than doing what is best for our deer herd? Honestly I love this rule change, but I truly feel the DNR is completely lying to the public on why this is happening. They are saying it has nothing to do with the following: Politics-legislators and others pushing this through Larger bucks-yep like the one buck rule wasn't for that either....sure.... A survey that hunters filled out back in April on this same issue? Then why have the survey? Obviously this will help to grow bigger deer taking gun season out of the rut and I love it and that's the only reason I support the rule change but I can honestly say after first hand seeing what the DNR did here I will not support future endevors of a group that will look me straight in the eye as crap pours out of their mouth! INDIANA DNR- DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND TELL THE TRUTH!!!!! I want others opinions here and tell me if they really think these rule changes will reduce the deer herd and also tell me that it doesn't look like they are also trying to grow larger bucks.
