Adjam5
I hear ya Joe.... Bad stuff always seems to pile up. Hot water heaters have a life of about 5-10 years or more depending on the model bought. I hope there was not too much of a flood where the heater is kept. If there is, that is what home insurance is for. When you install the new one. Install unions on the water lines that feed the heater. So when it goes again, which they always do. It will be easy to change. Also, check your water pressure. My water company pumps up the pressure so high, occasionally they blow out the pressure control valve and the water heater leaks from the pressure relief valve, giving the appearance that the water heat is bad and it could really be the pressure control valve that went bad on the water main forcing it to weep out the relief. Hang in there. Could be worse.

TBow
That's the way it always goes Joe. Just when you can see light at the end of the financial tunnel, something always manages to break down or pop up. This spring I was getting to where I figured I could actually start buying materials to fix my poor 'ol neglected house. Then BINGO! The tranny in my Dodge gets sick and I'm on the hook for $2K. Scratch some home renos! I sometimes wonder if I should always act like I'm broke and in debt irregardless of my finances, just so the appliance gremlins and Murphy's Law hooligans will leave me alone! jbeck
I'm with you buddy, been working saturdays on side jobs to make ends meet. Sealed the drive way 350.00 replace the roof above my daughters bed room 600.00 put in new chimney, 1500.00 pretty much wiped out the extra I earned all summer. Only good thing is I did all the work myself so I did save some money.
