TBow
Man oh man! Did the rain ever come down in my home town last night! My area is typically not prone to flooding, but there were a good many (if not all) of the basements in my town were experiencing some level of H20 infiltration. Even some of the rural roads where I've never seen flooding across the roads before in my 58 years, had signs posted for "CAUTION FLOODING". As my mom explained it as she watched the rain coming down early this morning, "I've never seen as heavy a rainfall coming down in the absence of storm-like conditions". There was a good 3" of water accumulated in my neighbor's yard this morning. Now I know there's news stories posted daily from all over north america, and the world for that matter of fact, about water flooding of a far more serious nature than 3" of water, but that's 3" of water where I've never ever seen water before. That's got'ta be a tell tale sign of things to come. If I'm getting 3" of water where there's never been water, then those areas that are typically prone to 3" of water, must be experiencing 3' to 30+'.
