okiedog
For those of you that spray your food plots (round-up / fertilizer) do you use any type of tracking colorant in your mixture? If so, what are you using and where are you getting it? I found a product called Mark-It Blue put it only comes in a 1/2 pt container. According to mix ratios that treats just 8 gals. Looking for something maybe a little larger.
wtnhunt
Have never used any colorant, cannot help. Let us know how what you use works for you.
dogdoc
nope--haven't used it. You can buy it by the gallon though. Found at lawn supply stores where professional lawn people get their stuff.
LETMGROW
marking plots to spray What I have done in the past is to set out fiberglass fence posts the width of my spray pattern. In my case 30'. I simply drive between the posts stop at the end, shut the sprayer off and move the posts over 30'. Repeat until done. Arcaic huh? Works well on smaller plots well though. There are foam marker systems out there but they are quite expensive for what they are. You can find them on the internet and TSC stores sell them. I know some guys who use GPS but I am not into all the latest gadgets enough to own one or know how to operate one well enough to depend on it. Larger plots I spray, watch my tire tracks and move over what I estimate to be the right distance. Once in a while I miss a spot and sometimes over lap the spray but in my mind it isn't a killing matter. [get it? killing matter?] Personally I would shy away from a color dye in my sprayer tank. I'd be afraid of staining the tank to the point I might not be able to tell how much liquid I had left in the tank. Spray and pray, Lynn
