Dawg
This is the United States of America. Those individuals who choose to move here for a better life need to understand a few simple things. Our language is English; we do not speak Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian or any other language for that matter. If you are going to move to our country, learn our language. Our motto is “In God We Trust”. This isn’t some Christian Right Winged conspiracy to control who or what religion you choose. It is simply based off of the principles and morals that this country was founded on. If you don’t like it may I suggest you find another place on this planet to call your home. Here in America we have many rights and privileges. If you don’t like our language, our motto or our way of life and would rather fight against what this great country was founded on, please feel free to exercise one right often over looked; the right to leave. Dawg
Isn't this country is based the freedom of speech, religion and excercise of the before mentioned? Huh? Yes, we do have the freedom of religion and of speech. However there is a difference in voicing your opininated speech and fighting against the very constitutional right that gives it to you. Who is fighting against the right of free speech and religion? That seems like a dumb move to fight by voicing your opinion against the amendment that gives you the right to free speech and religion. I listen and read a lot of media that doesn't get pushed into public view. There is a constant fight against the motto, the Pledge of Allegiance, the freedom of religion and yes even the freedom of speech.

Adjam5
Corey...I have something I think you would enjoy reading. ON topic. 'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.' Theodore Roosevelt 1907 This man was way ahead of his time. BTW I agree whole heartedly with your original statement. That would be X8

Ethan Givan
I agree with everything you said in your original post, and that quote from Teddy is awesome. Taking Spanish is a requirement at all colleges in the state of Kentucky. I made a D in the class which caused my GPA to take a real hit. I will have to retake the class again because the grade is too low to transfer to the university that Im going to finish out my degree at. Taking this spanish twice is gonna cost me alot of money....about $
