Hey Guys I shot a doe this weekend but could not find her, I hate that but it happend. I was hoping to get some camp meet and shot het saturday night. The shot looked good, but she was angling toward me and acting all spooky not angling bad but not away from me. I should have waited for a angling away shot. I had good blood at first but it just stopped. I am pretty sure I got at least one lung because there was bright pink blood with bubbles on it on the tail. I dont understand what happen to her. I looked from 7 till 10:30 in the swamp. I followed deer trails and did circles but couldnt find her. So went and got a tracking dog and she didnt even seem interested in finding that deer. Not a good way to start the season! I will try again next weekend. And take my time on the shot

That happens Mirage. I had it happen twice to me last year during gun season. Once on a really nice buck and again on a doe the next night.

I made it out to trim up some deer stands and things look good on one of the properties I hunt. I saw a few scrapes out there and jumped a doe. If I get a chance to thwack a doe opening weekend I'm going to. We need the meat in our freezer.

Good luck to all...

Went out this evening.. it was warm, but i saw 3 deer. 2 does and a yearling.. nothing close enough to shoot though. I'd been out twice before now but hadn't seen anything. It's supposed to warm up here this weekend, so I probably won't go out much. I might go in the morning but definitely not in the evenings.. it will be way too hot.. Hopefully everybody has some luck soon.

Well, went hunting this morning and took my 7 year old son. I didn't expect to see anything because it was his first time deer hunting and we were just sitting on a tree top that had been logged. We heard some turkeys come off the roost and had a couple deer blow at us,it was no big deal,I was there to let him have fun. I did learn a valuable lesson today,I don't think deer like the smell of cheetos or the rattle of the bag they come in.

well our season opened friday, took off fri and monday, was hot the first three days didnt see any thing, on monday was a lot cooler, had a deer coming down a hill never seen what it was till i seen where it was going to pop out at, came to full draw when it pop out into the opening, settled the pin on the kill zone , and than noticed it was a spike with 4 to 5 in horns, in ark spikes have to be 2 inches or less to be able to shoot, so i had to let the bow off from full draw.tuff to to say the least, but i did it with spooking him, he walked 31 more yards and fanished into the thicked, to me that was a great hunt, had him dead to rights .. if only he would have been a shooter or a doe.
