Well, guys I was hard at for the last week and a half in hopes of maybe topping my bow buck. It was pretty rough weather wise. Can't remember a long stretch of cold through the shotgun season. I could have killed a few youngsters, but hope they make through for the next year at least. They all have potential. I still have 2 weeks of hunting with my ML for this year. The tags are good for a month and a half next year after a new license ....

Winter bow in January for a month. If I choose to buy a shotgun permit another month and a half from the New Year.

Confused yet? Anyway I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting if you are still out after it. :cool2:

My head is hung low...This has to be the first year in about 15 that I have not at least downed a doe :(. I am sorry team. It was not to due to lack of trying. I have a good bit of time on stand. My suburban spots have been under attack with a no so co operative neighbor who seems to be a bunny hugger who lets his dog off the leash thrashing the woods ruining many hunts. But that is not my teams problem...that is mine.

Gentlemen...Yes, I passed on a few. But my intentions were pure each time I got on stand. I don't know...maybe with my son Joe taking 6 deer with his bow this season, subconsciously had me laid back about putting venison in the freezer. Maybe...But I tried.

Again...my apologies team.

Maybe I can shoot some yotes this winter to make up for the deer I didn't kill this fall.

No apologies needed here, Anthony. That is hunting. It is what it is. The choices you make in the stand are choices for a good reason. We all anticipate success from having it before. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes he gets you. We know that. We also know that we need to keep our expectations in check and keep in mind the reason we hunt in the first place.

You gave it your best shot and that is good enough teammate! ;)
