From the pictures I got last year, this year should be a great year. I'll be putting my cams up soon to find out what the boys look like this year. Griz
Well team our season will kick off Oct. 1st. But I'm going to hold off for a bit before I hit the woods... I encountered this buck last season and was able to get him on my trail cam during the winter... I saw this buck 2 days ago and he is better then this pic of him... I have another big, wide double drop tine buck that I am going after to... I don't have any pics of him as of yet... I'm off to the woods the set tree stands and to fill feeders... Griz... AdvantageTimberLou
Lou checking in! What a great team! Thanks jcwa for putting this all together. My bow season starts Oct. 1st guys and our season runs till Jan. 1st, 2011. Got several areas to hunt this fall and hope to add to our team's future success. As for a name, I am sure we can come up with a great one. Here is a buck I got on one of my cameras. Last year he had a little nub on that side, this year it appears to have taken a curve! Not sure if he is a 6 pointer or bigger, hard to tell with all that horn on the right side. If he survives this season he could be an awesome non-typical down the road possibly. Lives in a 6 acre woodlot.
layin on the smackdown
Well team our season will kick off Oct. 1st. But I'm going to hold off for a bit before I hit the woods... Awesome buck!!! from that pic it looks like he has 5 legs and a huge tumor... Man i sure hope you can put the smackdown on him this year! Bow season kicks off in a little less than two weeks. Im at school most of the season but I try to get home one or two weekends a month. Got a couple nice ones running around and weather has been perfect the last few days so season cant get here soon enough Jorden, one of the best spots i have to hunt now is where i went to college....go out and knock on some doors and see if you can't get permission from a local landowner to hunt...it'll save you a lot of time, and it sure makes things interesting with the roomates...i remember leaving to go hunt in the mornings and all the roomates and half the block sitting in the living room still going strong... either way, good luck to all! I just gained access to a real nice chunk of ground here in Marion County IL....Man i can't wait to see what i get on the camera, and what i get to encounter...outstanding! I also went by and checked on one of my ladder stands I put up here the other day and put a ratched strap on it since I had forgotten it, I killed a real nice buck there last year, it looks like its gonna be a smokin spot again....I'm pumped up and ready to go.... PotashRLS
Better late than never, I'm here! Our archery season starts this Saturday the 18th. I haven't been on the forums much since our little girl was born in June. She is doing well but with the 2 kids now, time is a premium! Our little guy just started kindergarten too so Dad will be the homework king. We have been helping two buddies in wheel chairs bear hunt so our cameras haven't been out for deer much. We do have one respectful 2yr old on camera and a doe with a double throat patch. I hope to put a doe in the freezer the first opportunity I get. With the early firearm antlerless and youth hunts in October, the deer wise up way TOO quick! Hope everyone is well and wishing you all a fun and safe season. Jorden
Saturday cant get here soon enough. Going big and heading to my best big buck stand right away in the morning. Long walk but its the only place weve had bucks on the camera. Will also be videoing myself for the first time this year so that brings an added challenge. Good luck to everyone on your openers!! struttinhoyt
Seen a really nice buck at one of my spots this morning.... coming to a feeder about 30 yds from our blind at 7:45 this morning.... Looked like he would go 135+ looked to be a 8 or 10 pt.... the binos I had weren't good enough to get a good look at him....
