need2hunt
Trying to get everything ready to go for the moose hunt, leaving on Saturday. Few good bucks on trail cams on the properties I hunt, everything in the dark. Farmers are pulling the corn and beans out of the fields like there is no tomorrow. Should be a good season! Talk to you when I get back. G
Flintlock1776
The very , very heavy rains are gone. It cleared up as the sun was setting. Windy and cool but I saw tons of does all over the place. Tomorrow I am trying for Mr. Buck with my bow. Good luck all!

fly
It sure was great hitting the stand yesterday for the first hunt of the season. 15 mph winds kept me from shootign a does at 40 yards. If she would have come in a little closer I would have took it. My goal this season is to harvest every deer I shoot at. No misses and nothing left for the coyotes. Nice job Flint. Flintlock1776
Bucks all around me the past Saturday and Sunday. No shooters. Fawn with bumps; button buck, ugly thin raked 5 pointer and one good looking 6 pointer. A few more weeks and the rut kicks in!
Texan_Til_I_Die
I hunted Saturday and Sunday. Saw 3 or 4 bucks, nothing big. Also saw a half dozen or so does, but I don't usually shoot any does until later in the season. Planning to hunt again tomorrow afternoon. Texan_Til_I_Die
Hunted at new spot last night. Didn't see any deer, but I did shoot a hog with my bow. As usual, I'm now down one broken arrow. Not sure about my next trip - I'll probably either go this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Tentatively planning to head out to West Texas for the weekend. fly
Way to go NJ! Had a 1.5 year old 7-pointer at 10 yards yesterday morning. Never had a clue I was there. After he walked off eating leaves I grunted, then doe bleated. He had no reaction except to keep eating. The rut is no where in sight yet here in IL. Another 3-4 weeks. Texan_Til_I_Die
Nicely done! I hunted all weekend. Saw about a dozen does and a couple of small bucks (4 and 6 points). Stuck another hog. Those dang things are everywhere. At least I got a passthru on this one, so I didn't lose another arrow. I'll probably hunt locally at least one afternoon this week, and then head out west for the weekend if I can get someone to go with me. need2hunt
Hey everyone! I have asked jcwa to remove me from the contest and replace me with someone else. I resigned from my job this last week and my efforts will be going toward either getting a new job or starting up my own business again. With that I won't have much hunting time and dont want to leave you all hanging. Good luck and have a great season! G

Texan_Til_I_Die
Had a good hunt this morning. Saw a doe, a 4 point, an 8 point and a 10 point. No shot at the 10, but I'll probably go back out this afternoon if I can get all my work done.
stcif
Hello everyone. I was added to your team recently. I hunt central NY and the archery season has started. Saw a bunch of deer already. None within bow range yet. I hope I can help the team out a bit.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Welcome aboard. Good to hear that you're on deer. I hunted in West Texas this weekend. Had the same wild weather that Tim Andrus was talking about in his live hunt. We missed most of the rain, but the wind and lightening were impressive. I saw deer at every sit, including several bucks, but the only mature buck I saw was at 75 yards working a scrape and a licking branch. It would have been a chip shot with a rifle, but it was way too far for my pitiful bow shooting abilities. Looking for some cooler weather to roll in about Wednesday, so that will probably be the next hunt for me.
stcif
Thanks. It's fairly warm here this week. Hoping to get back in the woods Friday.
