My season kicks off in 2 weeks, and i got a Kansas tag and a Nebraska hunt back to back the first 2 wees of november. Got 13 different bucks on camera here in alabama. Looking to knock some down! I'm taking a few days off and should be able to put at least 5 on the board for us. But don't be worried if I go MIA for a while. I'm going on an elk hunt in CO the latter part of October. Smitteken Posted October 4, 2010 Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Well, I got off work early yesterday, rushed home, bought my tags, showered, and threw all of my stuff in my truck to head out to one of my stands. Sat down about 4:30 and had this one and her fawn come in about 5:50. They hung out about 50 yds out for a while then creeped through my 30 yd lane. Thats when the rage made contact. (I know my sig says Muzzy but I switched last year) Blood trailing wasn't really easy given the woods were so thick, her last 10 steps or so were pretty gorey. She weighed 103 field dressed. Kind of a bummer but not much you can do, that's why they call it hunting! Could have taken a nice big doe but when I put the gun up there was nothing but sun in my scope, it was early in the morning on a bright sunny day. My best friend got his first deer and another guy that's in our group, his 13 year old son shot his first deer too, a nice big 11 pointer to boot! Hopefully I'll twack one with the bow!
