Congrats on the doe jesse.

I hunted Friday through yesterday afternoon. Overall I can't complain. Missed a doe at 32 yards. Looked like her chest hit the ground when she ducked allowing my arrow to kill dirt. Oh well. Had a couple of other close opportunities at does but they were both were I am getting pics of mature bucks so I passed them. One doe yesterday afternoon was just asking for it staying anywhere from 15 to 25 yards from me for almost an hour. If not for the pics of a wide 8 point in there on Oct. 1st when I changed out the card on the 2nd I would have nailed her. Knowing the buck was somewhere around there buck saved her...this time.

Heading back to my parents in Louisiana to help them. May be there a week. If that's the case I won't hit the woods again until the middle of next week.

Good luck to all hitting the woods this weekend.

The doctor cleared my parents to drive again. My father is clear to do whatever he wants now. They sent me packing yesterday so I should be hitting the woods again like I usually do each season after I finish catching up here at home. I should be back in the woods Friday afternoon and I'll probably hunt through Tuesday morning.

Shut out again this past weekend. Rubbing and scraping is just starting to get going in our area, so hopefully the deer movement picks up. Temperatures have been pretty warm (70+) to which hasn't helped movement any. All I've had get close are fawns and small bucks. Not even any good does. Haven't seen a shooter buck since last fall.

My dad missed a 130 inch or so 8 point Sunday morning from a stand I'd hunted Saturday morning that we moved about 30 yards. It wouldn't have been something I'd shoot (already have four 140+ bucks), but it's encouraging.

I'd been running a trail cam over a mock scrape for two weeks and checked it yesterday. Almost 400 pics of does and fawns, with only one buck, a 1 1/2 year old 6 pt.

I'll be out again this weekend.

Finally got my PC fixed and running again. Posted the required pic & data of my doe for the team's score. Looking for upgrades now.

Had the main frame 5x5 with the kickers off both G2's coming in last Monday afternoon when 4 pigs appeared and spooked him off. 1 of those pigs didn't get away...I gave him a dirt nap. I also bagged a 200# pig the same day I bagged the doe too. Hit a 3rd pig late Thursday afternoon that I didn't recover too. Sure seems like there's more of them this year than past years.

So far this season I've only had one rack back in range and it was a 2.5 year old 8 point. He got a pass. Seen a few other young bucks too including what looks like a 2.5 year old 9 point. He should be nice in a few years.

I'll probably hit the woods again Thursday and hunt through Sunday morning.
