Canuck2
Finally getting some use out of my meat pole. Yesterday I shot an adequate 4x4 and will enter him soon; haven't took a picture of my tag yet. According the latest update of the score board, that would put us in the lead. Keep 'em coming, team. Canuck2
Here we are, crew. I claim first prize for dorkiest picture of the year. I couldn't figure out how to activate the self timer and had to get whatever I could at arm's length.

hoosierhunter
Our gun season starts this weekend so I will have my wife out trying to tag her first deer. She insists she is going to kill a bigger one than me. If that happens I might just fall out of the tree!!!
mandyjo62
Awesome Canuck2! We have a heck of a team here this year! Got the boyfriend his cow elk on the state land last weekend, and then we did some deer scouting. Saw a few older 3x3's on their downhill, and several 4x4's on their up, and that's about as big as they get out here. Saw two I'm gonna be looking for again, 4x4's with some decent mass to them...but man seeing all those bucks sure got my heart goin Can't wait to get out again next weekend, maybe get some more points for us! hoosierhunter
Here's a pic of my buddies buck from this morning. He grosses 168 5/8ths. We are having a dream season that is for sure!
Canuck2
That's a beautiful buck, hoosier. Your buddy has had a career season right there.
Dawg
Hey folks, I'm back from Colorado. It was a tough hunt at first. I managed to tag a small 2x3 on the last morning hunt. Not the big boy I was hoping for, but at least I didn't come back home emptied handed. Edited November 14, 2010 by Dawg

ny_gun
I was able to take doe with my bow Sunday morning. I am hoping to upgrade my 8-point with a bigger buck once shotgun season opens in NY this Saturday (11/20).
ny_gun
Anyone know why Canuck2's buck has not been added to the team score? The entries both before and after his have been added.

The entries both before and after his have been added. The scores haven't been updated since the 11th. My buck is waiting to be added as well. Got this stud on camera, maybe I will be able to upgrade my points with him : Edited November 16, 2010 by Dawg
NS whitetail
Well, another week has past, I let a few smaller bucks walk by... last wed., I shot at a nice 8 pointer, had him 190 yards and about a 40 mph NE wind was blowing, I shouldn't have taken the shot maybe but I missed him clean. The good news is, I am heading back to camp in the morning for a few more days and I still had that huge 10 pointer on cam again last week. This week, those smaller 4 and 6 pointers may look good in the scope
Canuck2
Anyone know why Canuck2's buck has not been added to the team score? The entries both before and after his have been added. I believe I have the answer to your question. I have been informed that there's not enough of my deer in the deer/weapon/hunter photograph to qualify under the rules. I could only hold the camera at arm's length to try and get it all in but was unsuccessful. So I also submitted an accompanying photo of the whole deer c/w rifle, assuming that would cover the requirements. No go. So I apologize to all my teammates for my transgression. I'm only allowed one buck here, so I guess I'm hooped. Sorry, gang; I hope this doesn't make the difference between us being admired throughout the continent and being relegated to the heap of also-rans.:poke:
Dawg
No biggy Canuck. No need in an apology, you did what you could. The scores still haven't been updated. Almost a week now since the last update.
hoosierhunter
Not worries it's a formality but it's all for fun. Also I had my buck scored last night officially and I had to report that he only had 12 scorable points. The last point measured 7/8ths. Oh well and the official gross was 155 3/8ths so I was high when I measured but he's still a bruiser and I couldn't be happier with him. hoosierhunter
Talk about a unreal season for myself and my buddies. The very next day after shooting that 169 our other buddy killed a hitlist buck out of the same tree on video. This one dressed at 210lbs. He's really busted up, but trail cam photos will allow the taxidermist to rebuild him.
mandyjo62
Canuck2, I'm sorry to hear about that.. that really sucks, but it happens & we all understand, no one will hold it against ya! Got my upgrade today, so I'm out of deer tags now It was -18 degrees when I woke up to go hunting this morning. Completely still, not even a slight breeze, a full moon, nothing was out right away this mornin, too freakin cold, and I don't blame them.. I don't think a hot deer to gut ever felt so good. This fella was in the first group of deer that I saw this morning and figured I couldn't pass him up, as our season ends in a week and I was starting to get desperate. Sorry about the bloody pic, I had no choice but to take him in the head, or he wasn't going to give me another shot.. Lucky I didn't loose antler on that one. Our day was going so well that I went ahead and went back out hunting after hanging my deer, and I ended up getting my cow elk with my 30-06 at just over 325 yards, so I was pretty pumped about that one too Glad to see you guys are having awesome seasons, keep up the great work! Canuck2
Mandyjo, what a nice buck! My son shot one very much like that a couple weeks ago just north of western Montana. All in all, you had yourself quite a day.
