hoosierhunter
had homer in the field at last light tonight, but just not close enough.
hoosierhunter
btw homer is the 2nd and 3rd buck on the top line of the team sign I'm using. Also it probably will be a little while before I choose to put a doe on the ground unless she busts me in the stand or I get that syndrome hunters tend to get on occasion called itchy finger comes back again;) Here's a pic of him yesterday morning. hoosierhunter
I saw 9 deer this morning but no bucks big enough to kill
Dawg
I can't see your team sig. There's a blue box with a question mark in it..... I didn't see squat yesterday but there is a buck in the area that has a scrape 30 yards from my stand.
hoosierhunter
Last night was great again. I had freak come in to 40 yards in some very thick brush with no shot and several other deer seen as well. Getting this close twice in thefirstt 3 hunts puts a ton of excitement in me. I also had my buddy kill about mid 130's 10 that was dogging a doe along with 2 other shooters and one scrub buck. Crazy for a doe to come in this early, but the big boys found her! hoosierhunter
I'll be out tonight and hunting a property where a doe could be on the menu!
Dawg
Got me a trail cam today. Gonna get it put out this weekend, hopefully I will have some pics within the next week to share!
hoosierhunter
yeah I definitely missed a doe last night. Thought she was about 40 and she was about 30. Right over the back.
Dawg
No worries man, we still have time to put the smack down on the deer. At least you got to fling an arrow at one!
ny_gun
yeah I definitely missed a doe last night. Thought she was about 40 and she was about 30. Right over the back. That too bad about the miss... but there is still plenty of time to score. The NY season opens in a little over a week (10/16).
hoosierhunter
Great morning. I had Young Gun and Split Left G2 at 60 yards and they bedded for the day on the property. The only bad thing it that it's 85 today and I'm not sure if they will leave those beds before dark.
hoosierhunter
Nothing to report as of lately. How is the rest of the team doing? Some updates would be great!
Canuck2
I was away for 10 days and got home on Sunday. Finally did a little hunting this morning and evening. On the morning hunt, I skulked after a group of 4 bucks with rifle in hand but decided none was big enough to take at this point. This evening I bowhunted in a different area and had a doe at 51 yards, too far for me to be shooting. I think I'll go back to the place that had the bucks in the morning and see if any new ones show up.
hoosierhunter
Good luck Canuck. I'm going to see a temp drop on Thursday so I might hit the woods on Friday evening here.

Canuck2
The deer hunting here is wallowing in the October doldrums. One of my two favorite areas has had the heck beat out of it with the first general open season for does in many years. The ones that are left are living under rocks during daylight hours. In my other area, the coyotes are having conventions and the deer have vacated. I think I'll have to spend a week or so sorting them out and hope the deer return for the rut. hoosierhunter
Well I've had several mature bucks sighted while hunting so far this year. I got a feeling it might all come together here real soon!
