decoy weights

like stated above - water movement should determine what weight you use, and what type of weight you use...However, most of us hunt variable water conditions, so i use the heavier weights permenently....some that are lead rings that bend around the necks, some that are bell shaped that cling around and are a pain...Regardless, you want your dec's to stay put (without minimizing movement) so go with the 8 oz or even 10 oz weights....Just keep in mind string length, type of decoy, and your variables on what you can hunt (type of water).

Dan, dont do this.

Add a little extra line to be able to bend them over the keel. Bending around the necks, scratches the paint, pulls off the flocking and will cause you to replace dekes sooner. Keep those tops protected. I will try and get a pic up of what I do.
