mallard_drake85
Well I found out that a coon has turned my trail camera into a toy, otherwise I'd have a full shot of this buck. But I do have pix of the coon looking into the cam and sitting on it, climbing over it, then walking away. But even with that setback, I still got some pix. I passed this buck last year as a 2.5 year old basket rack 8 point. And I'm glad I did. Now I just hope I get a shot at him this season. This young 2.5 year old buck has earned the right to walk another year or so. He has some potential though! I'm hoping to send one of these through that big buck this year with the reflex/deflex bow I built. But if I get the chance with my PSE or smokepole, I don't think I'd pass it up. These two are the most recent arrowheads I've knapped. Thanks for looking. mallard_drake85

woolybear
Nice bucks and great job on the knapped points. How long have you been knapping? A friend of mine on another forum had peaked my interest in knapping earlier this year when I purchased a knapped knife from him for my father. I've been dabbling with glass heads ever since but have yet to try my hand at stone. So far have only created heads good enough for necklaces but I do enjoy the primitive feel of making some flakes fly, lol. Hope to see you bloody up that stone point soon. Is that chirt? This is my 3rd year of flint knapping and my skills have progressed substantially from when I first started 3 years ago. That is keokuk burlington. A buddy of mine gave me some spalls and I've been working with it a few times a week. After its been heat treated, it knaps very well. Thanks all for your comments. Hopefully I'll be able to stick a deer with one of them next month. mallard_drake85
redkneck
You kill a deer with one of those and a stick bow (or crap even with a compound) and you'll be a top dog in my book. Lots of tallahatta quartzite around here I've seen folks knap on. Amazing how fast they can knock out a perfect point. Good luck to you and please post the results when you get one nailed.
