I think there's a chance with any airline that your gun case will be mis-handled. Some folks just don't like guns. As for the Canadian gov't,............me and a buddy each took 12 ga. pump guns on our fishing trip this past June. We had the paperwork filled out ahead of time. All the customs agent was interested in was getting our $25. He never checked the guns nor did any of the border officers. Far as they know, we didn't even have guns. U.S. customs didn't check them on the way back in, either.

Been through various Canandian airports a dozen times. I have had been detained, paper work checked thouroughly and firearms inspected and times where I was just let through customs with them. Like anyone else I suppose it just depends on what they are told to do on that day or how they woke up that morning. I can say this, the US customs seem to hassle americans coming back into the US more than the other way around.:bang:

Dont sweat the little stuff and the things you have no control over. Enjoy your time there, Canada has some of the best places to visit on earth.

Seems like Canada Customs are the same way. Never travelled by air into the US. But driving, US customs are usually a pleasure to speak to, friendly and only ask what should be asked. Coming back home into Canada I've had my car tore apart and treated like a criminal.
