Reggie Bush losing the Heisman

I completely agree with this. As much as you might not think so everything done off the field does have a on-the-field effect. Here's an example. Reggie was financially taken care of while at school and so was his family, so he no longer had to worry about his families or his former situation in the back of his mind. As a former college athlete trust me little things in your life matter.

I agree with their decision regarding Reggie Bush since it has been determned he was ineligible. What I don't agree with is their decision to leave the honor for that season vacant. Vince Young was 2nd that year. Since Bush is ineligible the honor should fall to Young. It shouldn't matter if Bush was ineligible before or after the voting. IMHO...Vince Young is the one that got hosed here.

I will tell what I don't agree with in this article, the following quote makes me wonder if the author was watching the same games as everyone else.

Bush, now a standout with the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints

Unless by standout he means standing on the sidelines.:boo:

Probably a little late to give the award to VY, wouldn't have quite the same meaning as it would have had at the time.

Reality check time again boys and girls.

What I don't get is how people want to call Bush a bust. Dude has rushed for 1,940 yards and also has 1,934 receiving yards in 4 seasons. I can't think of anyone else in the NFL that's done that... that's almost 4,000 yards from scrimmage, and if you countt his 4 return TDs and over 600 return yards (as a part-time returner mind you), he's scored a total of 32 TDs.

That means he's piled about over 4,400 yards, 32 TDs, caught 260 passes...while averaging 1,100 total yards and 8 TDs per season.

You can do a whole lot worse than that folks...I'd love to have a guy like that on my team.

I bet you would.

How many of your fantasy teams did you draft him on?

Don't think I called him a bust, but he sure isn't a standout either. He is a good utility player, and that is it. Not good enough to make it as either a running back or wideout, but can fill in at both positions. I bet if you could get an answer from the owner of the Saint's, he might consider him a bust when compared to what he had to pay to get him.

With the seasons his QB has had the last couple of years, he should have been racking up the rushing yards because the D was focusing on the pass. Didn't happen. 404 yards 2 years ago and 390 last year. Not a standout, which is what I said to begin with.

None, but I would have loved to been able to get him in my PPR league.

But that doesn't mean he's not a good football player. 1,100 yards and 8 TDs a year is pretty standout, that is major production and that's moving chains.

He just doesn't get media hype, like a douche like Favre does, for whatever reason, probably because his stats are spread out so there's not one big gaudy stat number Stewart Scott's lazy eye can actually see clearly enough to pass along to the lemmings.

Word.

The issue is not about his athletic ability. It is about him accepting gifts as a college athlete. We all know that is not allowed. Truth be known there are probably are a ton of players who play or have played in the NFL who have accepted gifts in one form or another as a collegian. If he broke the rules he pays the consequences.

Dumb. I love how the NCAA pretends like nobody in college football who is worth something isnt getting paid. EVERYONE in college football is getting paid or receiving gifts of some sort. Check out the heismann ceremony every year and ask yourself where all those guys get those thousand dollar suits and diamond earrings while rolling up to the place in a Hummer.

Bush was easily the best player in college football that year. He deserves the trophy. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

Another about average game for him last night. 2 for 14 yards rushing, 5 for 33 yards receiving and 3 for 7 yards returns. Just slightly below his average. 54 all purpose yards over 16 games equal 864 yards. Doesn't suprise me that you just happen not to have him on your FF team. Not quite football's version of Odum, but not for from it.

Uh, oh yea.

Word.
