RangerClay
As some of you know I recently bought a 2010 Hoyt Turbohawk. It's set at 65# with a 30" draw. For the past 3 years I have been shooting up my CX 300's through my Mission X3. New bow and time for new arrows. I'm looking at the Mayhem Hunter or the Maxima Hunter. The Mayhem is a little less expensive but heavier than the Maxima. The Maxima has been out there for a while, is straighter, and has been proven in the woods. I was figuring on a 350 spine on either arrow I buy. Has anyone shot both? Does one arrow have something to offer over the other? Any advice would be great. Randy
Joe, I've been shooting the Maxima Hunters since they came out. It's a good arrow however, it seems more often that not, they break when you shoot a deer. Maybe it's my shot placement? I havent shot the mayhems yet... Straight Shooter
I haven't shot the Mayhem but switched over to the Maxima Hunters this year and love them. They are expensive but well worththe moeny in my opinion. I'm shooting the 350's and to be honest I've not heard of anyone shooting the Mayhem yet. As for arrows breaking when shooting an animal, I have all kinds of arrows break upon the shot and others, I've killed six deer with the same arrow. Just shot placement or what it hits on the other side upon exit, also if it's not a pass through the deer could break it running off. Ohiobucks
I've shot almost every arrow out there (almost), and have shot the Maxima for the last 2 years, this fall will be my third year with them. Great arrow IMO. I've never had them break after a complete pass through, I have had them break if the arrow doesn't pass through though. I think you'd be hard pressed to find an arrow that doesn't snap if it was sticking out of an animal running through the woods at a high rate of speed....
