Surviving the Cut

Anybody watch this show?

It's about soldiers in Combat Diver school. It has been some of the best TV that I have seen all summer.

Mind you the soldiers going through the training are already Special Forces, and some of them still don't make it through the training.

It's no suprise to see why our guys and gals in the armed forces are the best darned group in the world.

you should see air force sere training. sorta like that however you are guaranteed to leave with at least one broken finger, and a black eye. if not more. but that is a totally different discussion. remember that tv does embellish things some. but yes from accounts of people i know who have gone through this training say that it is really that hard.

I've been watching it every week. I'd have to say that the Combat Diver School was one of my favorites. It was cool that the students were already SF and Rangers so the instructors were calm, cool, and relaxed throughout the whole process. I didn't hear one instructor yell the whole time which is different from the other schools they have. But that's because those guys went through enough yelling in their SF and Ranger schools.

I'm hoping for their last episode they have Navy SEAL training. The BUD/s course for SEALs is 6 months long and the first phase is 10 times more brutal than any other school they've had. The thing is though they would probably only show **** Week since showing the entire first phase in all its brutality would be a series in itself. Plus, if I've heard right, from BUD/s to the time they are considered Navy SEALs is a period of one year or more.

They had several episodes on last night. One of them was the Air Force Parajumpers. They go through a several week period just to show that they have what it take to go through the 2 years of actual training to become a PJ. That's all they showed, the tough stuff at the front end, but that is where the PJ's make the cut, so to speak. They also had Recon Marines, combat divers and Ranger School on last night. Any body that makes it through any of those schools is BA, period.
