AJ
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin I use both. I have a 3 pin sight on my Bowtech hunting bow, a 5 pin on my Hoyt hunting bow, and a Sure-Lok Challenger single pin with a 6x lens, on my Bowtech bow set up for target shooting. the single pin setup is nice but I have had too many times a deer move after I was at full draw and had to use the next pin. Using a single pin its too hard to adjust to the setting needed at the time. I guess if you did not shoot over 25 yards, you could use one pin. kooter
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin i use a fixed pin sight, but I only have one pin on it. I set it for 25 yards and just aim high or low. don't like to have all the pins in my sight window
Stinger-Hunter
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin I like to use my 3 pin system. out to 20 is my first pin, then 30, then 40. I never use my 40 yard pin unless there is going to be a nice buck at the end of it. I do practice out to 40 yards, though. I like to have them set so I know if I miss it's because I made a bad shot and wasn't a misjudgement of distance or anything like that. I try not to Kentucky windage too much as I have only shot at 2 deer with a bow. Perhaps after I get more experience bow hunting, I'll change, but for right now I like everything to be exact. billkay
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin I prefer a single, adjustable pin. I've used Keller, Cobra, Impact archery, (super bright), and now I use a Tru Glo. I've tried a multi pin Trophy Ridge but just couldn't adapt to it. iron buck
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin I use a 3 pin vertical set up by Vital Bow Gear. Fantastic sight. I have mine set for 20, 40 & 50 yards. In a hunting situation, deer can show up at anytime........and seem to appear out of nowhere. It is at times like that when you will not be able to move and adjust a single pin set up to the proper range (if it is adjustable at all). That is why I stay away from single pin sights. Doc
Re: Fixed Pins or Single pin 2 fixed ring-pins..........a 20 yard and a 30 yard. I don't use the 30 yard ring for hunting except to get the 25 yard shot between the two. Doc
