what are the reviews on this rangefinder, i kno there bad and good stories to every product. is it worth the money and operate properly. im lookin at purchasing this rangefinder before too long. just skeptical about electronics, but it would be nice o have a rangfinder that adjust from elevated locations, i hunt from a stand almost every time and when that big boy walks in i want to be on the money.

i had a thread about rangefinders awhile back but im unable to find it, this one is referring to this rangefinder, but if theres a better rangefinder with the same characteristics please tell. just want a quality range finder that works from elevation

Here is my opinion - I looked at this rangefinder a year ago. I then looked at the Nikon Riflehunter 550 and thought why would I buy a range finder that is only good out to 100 yards when I could spend a few more dollars and get one that is good out to 550 yards. The 550 works from 11 yards to 550 yards. I thought that the Archer's Choice just limited me too much as my rangefinder goes with me bow hunting and gun hunting. I paid 230 or so on eBay.

how has the 550 been working for you. especially bowhunitng. i bowhunt way more than i gun hunt so 100 yards isnt too bad for me. but i hear what yuor saying why not pay more and get more. especially for those days i do gun hunt. better to have it than not to have it. like i said im skeptical on buying electronics let alone buying them off ebay. but if it works y not

as i said I haven't gotten it yet to try it, but i'm hoping the riflehunter 1000 is a good one. so far what very few reviews you find are only good ones. The riflehunter 550 has been out and has gotten lots of good reviews. Here's one of the links...

I'm expecting the riflehunter 1000 to be a good one. Nikon just has to get the thing to me! Once I get it, I'll let you know how good it is, if it's not too late. I have a feeling it's going to be hard to get one though.

The 550 works fine so far. Seems pretty accurate and displays in half yard increments (at least at the shorter yardages). I am happy so far. As for eBay. I've bought tons of stuff and got burned once for 70 bucks. PayPal reimbursed me, but it took a couple weeks. I bought my son a 550 for Christmas last year so we now own two.

One thing that sold me on the Nikon's was they are simple to use and cheaper than Leupolds.

ive been doin a littel more research on rangefinders with arc or id and have found that with the speed that most bows today have that from a 20ft stand it will only be a few yards difference and instead of spending the xtra money on one i can just get the regular nikon 550 and be fine.

the differnece in yardage is say your 20ft up the range finder tells you the deer is 32ft, seeing how the angle of the shot is longer than it is from the base of the tree to the deer ur true shot is only about 24 thats 8yrds and that gap decreases the further you go. so just remeber to hold low so roughly just subtract an average of 5yrds in between 20 and 40. and hold you pin on the money, gives you just about the right arrow path for a solid hit, and if the deer does string jump the shot hits a little high but from the incline from being in a stand you still get both lungs with a good exit location.

with all that being said, is there anything i missed or im not completely right on.please tell/hopefully this will help other out who have the same question

They are okay but honestly for bow hunting from a stand I think the ATC is over rated. I bought a pair of the Nikon's Archers Choice a couple of years back to replace my Bushnell Sports. I ended up selling the Nikon's for half price after a hunting season, the extra 60 to 70 bucks for the ARC was a waste of money in my opinion. I'm glad I kept my Bushnells and still use them today with great accuracy and success. JMO
