Rhino
According to Les Davenport's article in Deer & Deer Hunting OHIO is the "Best of the Best" state to deer hunt right now! Sorry Chris & Tom you can't hide it anymore. Everybody who's into deer hunting will be snatching up leases and land for the privilege of hunting Buckeye monster bucks now. Ohiobucks
I love living and hunting in Ohio. I will have to agree with the article, it is the best deer hunting state in the union, period.
gzilla45
I think I'm going to have to put up some billboards along the IL/WI border talking about this. Maybe it will convince some of them to take the trip to Ohio instead of up here.

Finally everybody will know what we here have known for years, OHIO is where it's at, followed closely by OKLAHOMA.

doubledrop
I think I'm going to have to put up some billboards along the IL/WI border talking about this. Maybe it will convince some of them to take the trip to Ohio instead of up here. that would just confuse them when they arrived here in ohio because my billboards say IL/WI is where the action is and the entire state is public hunting....... AceArcher
I think this is completely accurate. Ohio is the place to be!! IL is hunted out for sure. If you are from GA, TN, MS or TN you should head your truck to public land in Southern OH and not Southern IL. I think Rhino would even let you know all his top spots.:clown:
Straight Shooter
First it was Kansas, then Wisconsin, then Iowa, then Illinois, and now Ohio, the rotation will continue from state to state. Regardless, I will continue to hunt Ohio and you guys from the others states don't have to worry about my truck heading there because its just to far for me to drive regardless of the quality of deer there is there.:pop:
Ohiobucks
Over the last few years, there has been a rather large group of bowhunters from Louisiana coming up and hunting near us here in central Ohio. We've gotten to know a couple of them, and my buddy keeps in touch with them sporadically throughout the year. We just heard that they are not coming up to Ohio for their trip this fall, they are heading to the big buck capitol of the US........Oklahoma. :tt1: If some is good, more is better, and there are more big bucks in Okieland than here in Ohio. ODH
Nope, no big deer here in the Buckeye state....lol
