wtnhunt
ok whats better cause im either getting a wasr 10 (ak47) or a rock river ar 15. The ak is$ 400 or i can get a ticked out ar 15 for $700 I would take the rock river over an ak any day. Don't honestly think there is any comparing. Just out of curiousity, where are you getting a rock river for $700? Gotta be a used rifle.

redkneck
William's dead on, you're comparing apples and oranges. Great deal on the A/R if you get it.
Adjam5
Heck buy both:D. Start accumulating now . The Rock River is better made and I am dang sure the more accurate of the two. What purpose are you looking to use these for? Target, hunting or home defense? The AR will better serve you with all of the above. $700 is a good price for a AR, especially a RR. Do you know what the twist rate is on the AR? The slower the twist the heavier the bullets you can shoot accurately.
Xbox360Player
id use it for all 3 uses and i dont know what the twist rates is on the RR but i found out rock river sells to the D.E.A so you know they got to be accurate
Strut10
I'd go with the AR if I had to pick one or the other.
jesse8953
I got both, but if I had to chose one it would be the rock river, hands down.I got my rock river new in box for $765 out the door, with a 10 round clip and a 30 round clip about 5 years ago at a gun show. Our county cops have rock rivers. Grady269
The AR is like buying a Mr. Potato head, there is no end to the pieces you can get to put on it, and there are lots of pieces.
scottb
I'm going to go the other way of all the guys. Yes the RR is more accurate, and you can customize it like crazy, but it is still an ar platform, and when you look at the combat reliablity of the ar vs the ak, the ak wins hands down every single time. If you want a rifle that you will have to take extremely good care of so it will shoot everytime get the ar. If you want a rifle that will fire if you forget to clean it after 50 trips to the gun range and then dropped in the mud and washed off with a garden hose get the ak. Dependability when i absolutely need the weapon to work is the single most important factor i look at when choosing a firearm, and for that reason alone i choose the ak.
