The topic shall be Blind Dates. So, I get a text from a lady friend that says she is talking to a female at the gym that really wants to go out on a date, grab dinner and a beer, and just hang out with me this weekend. She will not tell me which girl at the gym it is for some reason, she just said I will recognize her when I see her and that she sees me all the time there but never has the guts to come talk to me. (I feel like I am in high school all over again, oh what fun! seriously, fun stuff! ) I dont know anyone else at the gym but my lady friend, so I know I don't know her. Blind dates in the past have been a lot of fun and also some huge train wrecks. I have no problem talking, keeping a conversation going, making them laugh and putting food and drink in them in a romantic manner. I don't really have a question for you guys and dont need any advice. I might go just to have some fun, but still on the fence right now. Figured this could be a good story time topic if any of you people have funny or serious stories about blind dates you have been on to try and help the love sick people here. Things got serious and they became a couple. About 2 months into the relationship they found it ironic they both had family reunions. I said ok as a favor to my dad more than anything. Drove an hour and a half to get there. We met, grabbed a pizza I think, I dropped her off and went home. That was it. It's been a long time ago and I was fresh out of a devorce,this could have been an easy date but I ended up getting plastered and puked all over the place. Just to check in and give you an out for an "emergency"..... Gives you enough time to meet, drink a beer, assess the situation and decide if you want to stick it out or not. Why not just go and see what happens. She could be hot (if she's a regular at the gym I don't see why she wouldn't be) and you two might just hit it off.....and it will only cost you a cheeseburger a few beers to find out. That being said I've only been on one blind date and it didn't turn out so pretty good. Nothing like HUNTINGMAN's date, but still not too good. One thing I have learned from college and relationships, either year long ones or one night ones, if I'm not feeling it at any certain point I let them know and walk away.
