New Rifle project

Sounds like a nice rig 280AI. I'm in the process of having a 25/05 built on a Rem 700 action. Of course all the work of truing the action will be done, but I'm not to particular on the tactical knob on the bolt handle, instead I've oppted to go for a jewled handle. A 28 inch stainless Lothar Walther varmint weight barrel that when mated with the action will have a black matte finish applied to all. It will be bedded into a cinnamon laminated stock. I've choosen and already bought a 6-24 Burris signature scope for it, and will probably go with Burris signature rings. I can't wait to get it, suposed to be ready for late spring.

Re: New Rifle project

Cool! Sounds like some fun projects. You are totally correct about custom or semi custom guns being more affordable if you do your homework. A Borden gun is crying for a Jewell trigger. There is no other. Jewell triggers are like custom rifles, once you get one you want more and more.

Hopefully I will be doing another custom gun soon. It's been too long since my last one and I an getting the itch. My next two will be based on the .338" bullets. I have a Rem 721 that I blueprinted that is going to become a .338 RUM. It will be my long range thumper. I have a Sendaro stock waiting for the barreled action to rest in. Its got a sweet trigger from the days when they came from the factory that way.

The other one will be a .338-06. It will be done on either a Rem 700 BDL action I have laying around or an Interarms Mark X action that I have laying around.
