redkneck
A friend of mine got me cooking it in the fry daddy lately. Don't know if I'll ever use a skillet again, lol.

This sounds like something I'd deffinately like to try,LMBO Whatever the frydaddy regulates temps to, about 375 I'd guess. It curls up a little (I first cut the bacon in half) but it is perfect in about 2.5 minutes! It's not one drop greasier than pan fried and no more flipping and popping. Give it a try, you'll appreciate the convenience.
gzilla45
Well this certainly is interesting. Do you put a batter on it?
wtnhunt
We have the dual daddy version fry daddy, cooked lots of stuff in it, but never tried bacon John. Usually use the electric skillet for bacon. What kind of oil you using, and what does thhe bacon fat do to the oil? We use only canola oil for the fryer, for chicken and taters can usually get a few uses out of it before having to change the oil, somehow thinking bacon would require you to have to change the oil with each use. Dawg
Never have tried it, sounds easy enough. You ever heard of chicken fried bacon?
redkneck
Haven't tried batter. I've already thought about the oil William. We use vegetable or canola oil, and yes I like to get a few cookings out of it too. I'll have to wait and see, but no doubt there is a substantial bacon flavor now in my oil. Potatoes may clean it right up next cooking. I'm still on the cutting edge of frying technology and will update as it develops. Though most things aren't ruined by a slight bacon taste. :eat: Nope Corey, never heard of chicken fried bacon. I assume you batter it up? Have cooked breaded deer tenderloin in the electric skillet with leftover bacon grease in with the canola oil before, but that was same day, within probably 6 hours. Did add a hint of bacon flavor to it.
