MonsterBuck48
im drawn between the two theres not much difference in either of them the outfitter series is waterproof where the freaky nasty isnt. but the freaky nasty has been renovated to be more user friendly. both have a zip out vest for warmth and are both suitable for early season hunts. the price is a little highter on the outfitter but it comes witht he vest where as with the freaky nasty you have to purchase the vest seperate.im just wondering if anyone has any more info on these two. in the end there will only be about a $50 difference. but how quite are they. just another decision i cantmake on my own so i thought i would ask the hunting community.:helpsmilie:
wtnhunt
No first hand experience with either, sorry. Personally I prefer to go with a waterproof breatheable outer shell in whatever I am hunting with for cool to cold season clothes. Big fan of the cabelas dry plus stuff, had nothing but good experiences with those lines. That being said if the two options you posted were the only options I had I would probably opt for the one that is waterproof, offers more versatility. dbHunterNY
i have the scent blocker roadtrips fleece set (older freak nasty) and i've looked at both. i think the outfitter is a little more bulky. it's more like a parka, where as the freak nasty fits better and is more for use with layering underneath. my roadtrips fleece doesn't block wind well alone and it's not water proof like you said. fit and function is second to none with the freak nasty even better; any gripes i had with the roadtrips fleece pockets and closures where fixed. in general you'd be better off with the outfitter. MonsterBuck48
i do like the layering idea with the freak nasty. and im not fond of bulky hunting material especially when bowhunting but the waterproof is good to have, they both have theyre ups and downs, but both do have the same functions as to cool weather to cold weather, just the outfitter is waterproof where as the freak nasty is water repellant not water proof. plus he name freak nasty is kinda catchy.lol

dbHunterNY
yea the macdaddy suite, but right now it's a bit too expensive. unless you start looking at cabelas scentlok stuff then the outfitter is a good choice.
MonsterBuck48
the mac daddy is about the same as the freak nasty.correct? how do you like it while shooting a bow, i guess all the scent blocker line is are good with layering so bulk really isnt a problem

I use the chest pockets ALL the time. for my tags, cell phone, and other stuff. the slanted zipper for the cargo pockets works well to keep stuff from falling out when getting into them sitting on stand. I use these four pockets the most. the cinch straps at your ribs are the key feature though. they keep the excess material tight to your body for a better fit. they now have a slit in the back for your tether which allows you to use the regular belt harnesses underneath. i've always had to use my HSS vest/harness on the outside which makes it hard to access the pockets. ...oh yea if you do get one of these check the body loc cuffs, waist, and neck. i bought mine from the store and one of them was broke from somebody messing with it in the store. I didn't notice it until I got home. I returned it and got another one. I haven't had any problems using them.
