RangerClay
I was reading Sureshot's post in the Lounge this morning and it brought back memories from 2004. Who remembers Chai Vang? If you don't then go here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chai_Vang (scroll down to the section marked shooting) Everyone should know about this. Nothing gets our blood to boil over like catching a tresspasser on our land but we need to keep a cool head. Chai Vang has shown us how things can go bad in a big hurry. Be cool, get identification, and get the game warden. Let's all come safe to our families, no tresspasser is worth our life folks!

wtnhunt
Remember the Chai Vang story all too well Joe, very sad for those families involved. Fortunately here tresspassers I have caught have gone fairly peacefully, I have had a few I have caught over the years. Unfortunately the laws here for prosecuting them is not really in the favor of the landowners or persons holding permission. When he was out to judge Christina's food plot the game warden and I had a good talk about some strange activity we have noticed and he asked about coming back this fall, I told him that he of course was welcome anytime and that I would appreciate him stopping by. HUNTINGMAN
On the farm I hunt on we don't have many trespassers but have ran across a few. My cousin that owns the farm let's the game warden park behind his barn at nights and watch for poachers. If there were any trouble I'm sure they would be right there. redkneck
I remember it well Joe, and good of you to post this. There are some nut jobs out there. Last time I encountered a trespasser, I had a bow, he had a 12ga, lol. I was firm..... but somehow cordial...haha.:48: Gotta stand up for yourself and protect your property, but there's a way to go about it for sure. huntnfish
It is hard to keep your cool when you encounter someone on your hunting property who should not be there. Nothing good can come out of an arguement or fight when both parties have guns. I agree with getting identification or tag number and report them to game warden.
