m gardner
I was at Bass Pro Shop and saw a TC Venture in 300 win mag on sale for $449.00 with a $50.00 rebate which brings it to $399.00. I put a Weaver K-4 on it with Burris medium, steel, weaver style rings. It's a synthetic stock rifle with a pretty heavy barrel which makes it balance nicely offhand. It actually has a very nice adjustable trigger too. I got some Barnes Vor-TX 165 grain loads with their Tripleshock tipped bullet. I bore sighted it and shot twice. The were low and left and 7/8 inch apart. I adjusted it and the next two were touching 3.5 inches high of center. Then I beat up the steel targets out to 300 meters for fun. It shoots through the 200 meter targets. I like it. I like it lots. I'll need to get some loading dies and go out into the desert and develop a load to shoot out to 800 which is about as far as it'll shoot with this scope sighted on at 300 yards. Right now it'll do for elk. Mark
