MCH
Just a spike and two yearlings this morning...of course the spike came by at 15 yards and stopped broadside while the two yearlings skirted me at 46 yards. Won't be able to get out again this week. Taking my friend's 14 year old son with me next weekend. He's trying to get his first with a bow. NiteRunner
Sounds good team! Went last night and saw nothing but raindrops! Work today, so I'm giving it a good try tomorrow morning.
texastrophies
Back from Wyoming. Sorry to report no deer came home with me. We did have a good time and saw a few smaller bucks, but I didn't drive over 1400 miles one way for a small buck. Did get an antelope, but I doubt that I can get points for that. Hopefully I will get a chance to come up on a deer at my parents place when the season starts here in November.
swohiodave
Congrats on the antelope! Its a shame it does not count, lol. I will be out again tomorrow morning but it is going to be warm here.
swohiodave
No luck yesterday. Had a doe bust me at 30 yards about to let a thunderhead fly. I did have my first buck sighting of the year. I saw a decent looking 8 with a smaller 6. Not the biggest but it was nice to watch them at around 80 yards.
MCH
Missed a doe Sunday morning due to my cam hitting my stand. Lucky it wasn't a bad hit. Didn't see much deer movement this weekend. I plan on taking my two weeks vacation during the first of November. Hoping the rut kicks up around that time.
swohiodave
It has just been too hot around here. I am going to go out again saturday for at least a few hours. I am hoping the temps drop soon and it kicks the movement into high gear!

MCH
This is the boy I'm looking for. My stand is 40 yards to the right. I've nicknamed him 4DT. Can you tell why?
swohiodave
Nice looking buck! Good luck connecting on him!
swohiodave
Went out yesterday morning for a few hours. I saw a piebald buck about 70 yards out. He did not have a large rack but it would make for one cool looking mount. I am hoping he shows his face again!

NiteRunner
Oh Boy Team, a buck with a droptine and a piebald buck sighting! If we don't win we should at least get an honorable mention as to how cool of a season we've experienced! Sorry to hear about your bow troubles SouthernIL. Still nothing to report from me. Things have been incredibly dull and I haven't seen a darn thing which is very odd. I plan to hit the woods hard within the next few days, since its getting close to that time of year. MCH
First day of smokepole season and no sightings. Hunted 5 hours this morning and got rained out this afternoon. Supposed to rain all night. Hope it slacks up enough to get a morning hunt in.

3seasons
Hey guys been working a lot so havent posted much. Got a chance to go hunting this past sat and was able to arrow an nice CULL buck. Talk about catching it from all my Trophy Hunter friends. You would think they would be glad to get this one out of the breeding pool. He is a 5+yr old 4 point still in full velvet, 19"beam and 4.5"bases. Not much to look at but i was glad to see him. I got to try out my new broadheads, Smoke Ramcats, they are sweet. Shot threw both shoulder blades and a rib on each side. Hope to better him, i leave for Kansas in 9days cant wait.
