Good luck everyone!

Sat in a tree 80 yds from a sure enough wall hanger...but he wouldn't come in. Rifle season opens in the morning and I plan on being in a blind in the same area. Hope he walks back out!

After the morning hunt, I'm headed up north about an hour to deer camp with a couple of good friends. We may not kill much, but it wil be nice to sit back and relax for the weekend!

I went out friday and a few hours this morning and only saw 1 deer running away. i think the rain we had here altered the deers movement some. they were using the creek crossing pretty heavy daily and not a think. my friend shot a button buck he thought was a doe and that is about it for today. Back out tomorrow morning.

another hunter showed up last year and shot a nice 10 right across a creek from me. It kind of made me mad he was so close and said he saw me but still sat there, he was under 50 yards away at one point. this year he showed up and saw where my buddy and i went in and went in a different direction and shot a nice 9! some guys have all of the luck.

Another day without seeing a thing in the creek bottom. since they cut the beans the deer stopped using it as heavy. The sad thing is they were not always headed to the field but stopped running the valley. I found a trail that runs the whole span of the hill with a rub line and lots of deer sign. Last weekend the deer were working it over hard.

Late gun season here. Had 3 does run right under me and looked up and saw a buck coming in fast. Being late gun season i did not look at the rack, just shot, by this time he was ten yards out. He walked to within five yards and collapsed. Expired 5 pointer 5 yards from my stand. Make for a short tracking job! Tried to hold out for a larger buck but late gun season means if it's brown it's down!

Well it looks like I am going to be a bad teammate this year, sorry guys. I really thought I would be getting something to contribute when I went to Wyoming, and that didn't pan out. I went out for my last hunt at my parents place this morning with high hopes of at least taking a doe. Had a small 4 pointer come out right after I got there (not legal), then 3 does and a button buck. Watched all or part of them for about 2 hours. I decided against taking a doe because I don't think there is enough out there right now.

Oh well, there is always next year, right?;)
