coondog
I dusted off my antique Hoyt Pro Vantage Tracer with recurve style limbs set at about 67 pounds in its day a very fast and forgiving bow. I put new strings on and still stacking them in consistant out to 40 yards even after not shooting it for over 3 years. I use a finger tab and have a set of tru glow sights and a hunter style peep, very basic set up. I shoot 100 grain 4 blade muzzys on gold tip arrows this ol bow is about 19 years old and has killed several deer and a couple hogs most with pass through shots some out as far as 42 yards. I know I should go with something newer . I had went to a more modern set up for a few years and used a release with it I sold it back last summer with plans to buy something newer and faster but still have the forgivness so I can still use fingers just didn't work that way. My back up bow is a Bear Kodiak recurve 60#s now that is basic LOL

My go-to longbow is a 64" Black Widow PLV,51@28 and my go-to recurve is this 1960 62" Bear Grizzly,45@28. Arrows are Easton aluminum's with 125gr Magnus Stinger 2 blades. Adjam5
I was going to go out with this this year, but the bow does not fit too well in my stands and my draw movement just aint right on stand. I don't feel comfortable. It is 66"/45lbs. I need a smaller recurve with more poundage. So...I will be shooting my Matthews again. An Outback 62lbs/29" Beman 380-16's with 100gr Spitfire expandibles. (so they claim) i obviously wouldnt try this... but hoyt has a name for durability... as for the rest.. i like it a lot... i dont know if there is something off with the timing, but i can see on my fletching that there is some contact going on... luckily it isnt effecting my shooting... in all seriousness though... the maxxis/ carbon express maxima hunter arrow combination has made me a better shooter...here is a pic of a 50 yard group... mind you i only did this once ever... normally my groups are about 5" @ 50 yards...
