Dawg
Smells smelly. Here's the situation, last week I washed my camo in the non scented detergent, throwed it in the dryer then hung it all outside on the porch to air out. Here's my dilemma, the clothes have a smell to them, not a sour smell or even a stanky smell.........just a smell. It's hard to splain the smell but what could I do to help get rid of the smell? mallard_drake85
put them in a clean plastic tote with some dry soil, leaves, bark, etc. We have alot of pines and cedars where I hunt, so I use a combo of pines, cedars, and hardwood leaves...seal it up tight and let it sit for a week and most of that smell should be gone. mallard_drake85

cray8705
primos makes a scent eliminator that has earth scent mixed in (Primos Silver XP Scent Eliminator Earth Blend) I use it every time i go out, but I also use it after i wash my stuff and hang it out. It works really well, the last two nights Ive had 4 deer walk around directly underneath me and they had n idea i was there, even watch them work a couple of scrapes. Give it a try. buckee
Wash them in a 1/3 cup of baking soda
redkneck
Wash them in a 1/3 cup of baking soda +1 Then air them out again, and keep them in a bag with a pine top or something and they should be fine. Then you can put your stankin butt in them and go hunting Friday.
Jeramie
Baking soda does work good. After that air them out like crazy. I usually leave mine hanging out all season. If they get rained on all the better (as long as they have time to dry before your next hunt).
huntnfish
Rewash in different detergent and let them air dry outside. I also do the pine needle thing since I mostly hunt in or near pines.
RangerClay
I don't have a place to hang my clothes out. My garage is musty and the shed smell like gasoline. I will dry my clothes with a couple earth scented drier sheets the put them in a tote with a fresh earth scent wafer.
Jeramie
Actually I meant hang them outside. Put them in the backyard. My brother hangs his in a tree in his front yard. If youre worried about fading turn them inside out and it will greatly help!
Dawg
+1 Then air them out again, and keep them in a bag with a pine top or something and they should be fine. Then you can put your stankin butt in them and go hunting Friday. First off.....my season opens Saturday. Secondly....your pine top idea worked great but in a weird way. Instead of smelling like pine, the clothes don't have a smell. It's like the pine acted as an odor absorber. Thirdly.....the smelly smell that smelled smelly finally clicked as to what it smelled like.......new clothes.....even though these aren't new clothes, after washing them in the non-scent detergent, that's what they smelled like. I am going to put the rest of them in the box with some pine tops too. Thanks for the suggestions fellas.
