m gardner
If you cross the border into the U.S. illegally you get a meal and a bus ride home. If you cross the border into Mexico illegally you get shot. Sounds like this needs to be fixed somehow. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2010/1001/Mexican-pirates-shoot-US-jet-skier-near-border-on-Falcon-Lake-Texas/(page)/
Texan_Til_I_Die
I've been fishing Falcon for the past 25 years, both on the U.S. side and in Mexico, without incident. With that being said, I will probably restrict my fishing to the U.S. side until further notice. I also find it very strange that these two people were 5 or 6 miles deep into Mexico on jet skis. You seldom see any jet skis on that lake, and you NEVER see them cross into Mexico. There may be more to this story than what's been reported. BTW - It's not illegal to cross the border into Mexico on Falcon (or Amistad) as long as you stay in your boat and don't step onto dry land. But you are required to have a Mexican fishing license. You can also re-enter the U.S. from Mexican waters without a passport.
ruttinbuc
This woman is just not believable. She has been crying on the camera for much too long. Granted she "lost" a loved one, but should have got a grip by now. They can't find the jet ski and the Mexicans on the other side have not heard any kind of gunfight. The authorities will find out sooner or later.
stevebeilgard
i think this woman is legit and this is the only a preview of many incidences to come.
m gardner
i think this woman is legit and this is the only a preview of many incidences to come. We'll need to wait and see but everyone may lose interest by then, which may be what is being hoped for. Slander someone or drag it out to prevent an international incident is an old tactic. m gardner
The Mexican police officer investigating this incident was killed today. Looks like no one wants this going any further in Mexico. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101012/ap_on_re_us/us_border_lake_shooting
wtnhunt
The Mexican police officer investigating this incident was killed today. Looks like no one wants this going any further in Mexico. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101012/ap_on_re_us/us_border_lake_shooting Heard on the news this morning the investigator was decapitated and his head found in a suitcase. Think we need a strong fully armed military presence there with no restrictions.
Missed160
Now the Mexican gov't says the murder of the man leading the investigation has nothing to do with this case? Sounds like they are scared to make an issue with the drug cartels.
Orion_70
If the Pres. won't order troops to the border to secure it, I still think the States have the right to protect their own citizens when the federal government fails to. They need to deploy the Guard down there and take real fire fight to the Cartels
