[ QUOTE ]

"The victory wasn't sweet," Young said Thursday afternoon. "I'm not gloating about it. I just hope the girls learned a lesson."

Young said the girls showed "very poor judgment."

Young said she believes that the girls should not have been running from door to door late at night.

"Something bad could have happened to them," she said.

Personally, I think that judge and the lady who took those kind and loving girls to court, need to have their heads examined.

Was just reading that after the verdict, a local radio station did a fund raiser to help the girls pay the money. In just a couple hours over $2000 was raised. The extra money was donated to a local charity. Now everyone in that community must know what a witch that lady is!

wow frown.gif you would think that the neighbour would appreciate this sort of act of kindness. a lot of people stereotype teens the wrong way, and this would have proved that wrong. some people dont have their heads screwed on right... they left a few bolts at the hardware store crazy.gifconfused.gifmad.gif

-well at least they raised enough money to cover it! smile.gif

I heard about that story a couple weeks ago and we discussed it in my law class. Kind of weird for sure. The report I heard didn't say if the woman had health insurance or not, maybe she was just looking for compensation for her hospitalization. Not saying I believe this was the best move, but then again, I think the high school girls made a mistake in running around so late at night.

Re: 2 Girls Sued Over Cookies

This ranks up there with some of the most ridiculous lawsuits I've seen. Definately a contender for the Stella Awards. What is the world coming to when hateful people do these kind of things, especially to teenagers trying to make kind gestures.

"The families had offered to pay Young's medical bills if she would agree to indemnify the families against future claims.

Young wouldn't sign the agreement. She said the families' apologies rang false and weren't delivered in person.

How 2 faced is that! Sue them for delivering something (in person) as a nice, friendly gesture of kindness and she says because they didn't deliver the offer to pay her medical bills "in person" that it was a false gesture. Yea Right. smirk.gif Who would go knock on her door to deliver it in person at that point? Just give that idiot more grounds to argue for punitive damages. That's nothing but a cop out for her. She just wanted to take their families to the cleaners on punitive damages. At least the judge saw through that.

The world has now come to a point where you have to watch out who you are nice to now? crazy.gif
