Messenger from the East

With the excitement of Tim and Clint's great Milk River hunt we may have overlooked a few forum members on another hunt just a state south of them. I asked on another thread to pull for wtnhunt and his sharpshooting daughter lilmisswtnhunt......I'll let the Messenger from the East tell you the rest of the story....almost. ;)

I didn't talk to William, but if they leave in the morning they will get home Friday sometime I would think. I know he won't drive it all. I'll look up the mileage. Pretty good haul.

Video did not work for me.

Mike is correct, 1339 or so miles. Drove through with a few stops and some coffees late last night, would probably have been around 18.5 hours if not for the construction every 5 miles through Iowa.

Christina is going to want to post her own pics.

I managed to get the antelope Steve told me I should go after on the last day we had to hunt, was actually looking for deer when we found him not far from where we had seen him the afternoon befoore. Will post some pics and the story later.

Glad you got home safe and sound. I've done those long hauls and know what it takes to do them. There are times when I should have pulled over no doubt.

I'm looking forward to the story and pics.

Thanks Mike. We left Gillette before 4 am Gillette time, only had 3 stops before it got dark. We had to stop a few times after it got dark, was too close not to go ahead and drive on in.

Daylight to dark is a killer on the road for sure, especially starting the drive in the dark. I got in the habit of driving until I needed the rest, hit a rest stop and sleep a cycle. Then wake up and groggily carry on. I found that motels take too much time from the hunt or your concerns back home. Hope you both are no worse for wear. Can understand if you are.

Glad you made it home William. I finally got the picture of your antelope, nice. Couldn't get enough service to download it on the ranch.

I got home around 6 this afternoon. We left yesterday morning and took a different route going home and spent A LOT of time in road construction in Colorado.

Congrats again to Christina.

Any pics yet?

Yep. Christina wanted to post stories and pics, but she has a lot to do with school midterms and band stuff and may not get on the computer until sometime over the weekend. Here is a brief rundown and a few pics. Will get more details and pics up later this morning.

Day 2, Christina got her antelope in the afternoon after Steve took us on a hike looking for mule deer.

Morning of day 3, Christina's mule deer. She spotted the deer.
