Well I went out today to hang a treestand and I got the ol lady to tag along. What an adventure that was.LOL We started into the holler and she's like theres alot of brush. I'm like yeah the farm ain't been farmed in years its growing up pretty bad. We keep moving then I hear OUCH and I I just got stuck by a brair. Well needless to say I heard that the whole way up the holl road. She asked how far we were going. Told her clear to the back side and she's like are you serious...:D:D

Anyway we get back there and she's like where are you putting it. I ain't sure yet. Don't think that made her to happy.lol Finally I find a spot and I'm wrestling around putting steps in the tree and what not and I'm about 10 to 12 feet off the ground and Ashley goes thats high enough.lol asked her why and it was because she wanted to leave.LOL oh then it also turned into she don't want me to fall out.

Long story short I got the stand in the tree and her out of the woods all in one piece.LOL

Well that suck for you. Maybe if you would have tried making it enjoyable then she wouldn't have had a bad time. I on the other hand enjoy spending time with my fiance..... she hunts and helps hang stands. So maybe your gf isn't the outdoorsie type but making the experience horrible for her wasn't a nice move. Good luck it your realationship.

I agree. With my past girlfriends, I would strive to make their outdoor experience as enjoyable as possible so they would want to go again and possibly even take up our sport one day. I understand some people believe that their treestand is they getaway from the Mrs., but I believe that instead of turning someone potentially off of our sport, we should be recruiting as many people as possible.

Just my 3 cents

DS you can just shove it thats about the nicests thing I got to say. I left out the parts where I helped her out and what not and just put the things I thought were funny. Not like I was being mean to her or anything like that.

BTW she said she wanted to go again so somewhere in my backward ways I did something right. Next time you say somthing get all the details first. I'm not big I details most the time I cut right to the point of what I'm gettin at.

BTW 2 Mallard how in the world did this turn into a post of recuriting for hunting??? I have no idea where this is even some what on topic to what I'm talking about in my post.

Some people just blow my mind.... If I step on any toes here to anyone else in the forum I'm sorry. Just venting out a little frustration.

Well you forgot all that detail so your little story leads me to believe you made it a miserable experience. As for recuiting others..... anytime you can introduce a new person to the sport we enjoy, its RECRUITING!!!! wether you meant to or not thats what we all try to do so our sport doesn't die out.

Yeah yeah....but anyone here who knows me I do for the sport what I can so no one here who does no me would think I wasn't recruiting.

So don't go rubbing your recruiting stuff in my face.

Sounds like taking a walk with my 8 year old. :D

For what it's worth, DS and Mallard, you're both kinda out of line. Guess I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you don't know Cody--I promise you he wasn't trying to make it miserable, just relating a story of a girl who's not used to being in the woods is all. Lighten up, eh? :D
