Turkeygirl
Do you have a stand that is the go to spot for you, or one that you always seem to get a deer from? Mine is a hang on in a yellow birch, only about 10 feet up, 50 yards in from a field edge. I've been bow hunting 12 years this fall and last year was the first bow season I did not get a deer from that stand, but otherwise 10 of the 11 years so far I've taken a deer from that stand. arrow32
Theres a big white oak in a persimon patch in on a ridge line and when the persimons are loaded I'll put a stand in there and its one of my favorite spots. I've saw some monster bucks outta that tree that have just given me the slip or just not taken that one last step needed for a shot. Anyway a spot thats just sure thing. Its right off a field and no matter what you will see deer in the evening. Maybe not a buck but a doe for sure no doubt about it.
buckee
I used to have a few tree-stands that I could truly call "the stand" until we started getting them stolen. I haven't hung a treestand in a few years now, because of it. I had one stand in a tree for 7 years straight, and had to keep adjusting it to make up for the tree growth..LOL I shot and saw a lot of nice deer from that stand. We do however have a few ground-blind spots that we can easily call "the stand" because they have always produced some good opportunities over the years. HUNTINGMAN
I have a tree on a good ridge I always see deer from and have killed a few from,it's my favorite spot on the 360 acres I bunt on. This year it's out of the question though, there is now a main logging road running about 6' from it. Everytime I go up that road I look at my bowholder still in it from last year and almost shed a teer.
jcot2773
depends on where i hunt. NC is in a stand of pines about 60 yards from a 3 year old clear cut. nice, tall grass with a beaver pond behind me. watched many deer from there. in florida there are a lot of trees i call "home" during the deer season. just depends on how sick of walking through undergrowth i get lol. MUDRUNNER
Not so much a "stand", but an "area". I have about one acre of area on the farm that I've killed about 75% of my deer in that we call "the honey hole". It has 4 draws that come together off of the ridges, along with a few oak trees. I do move my stands around almost every year to keep up with the changing patterns and trails that the deer use. I hang one stand for a north to west wind, and one for a south to east wind. They're actually only about 80 yards apart.

NY_Bowhunter14
have a treestand i hunt out of all the time... it's on the edge of many, many acres of thick brush... deer like to come out of the thick stuff early in the morning and hang out in the woods for a while... they do the same thing just before dark... only bad thing is most of the deer come out onto property that is next to the one i hunt, and unfortunatly i don't have permission to hunt that land... Straight Shooter
This is a good question Ruth. I have hung one of my stands for the last 4 years in the same tree, it's a oak tree butted up against an old clearcut of about 2 acres. Off to my right is a small ridge of white oaks that flow down in front of me, its a huge white section of the property with a apond about 200 yards from me. I have seen several large bucks from this stand as well as a ton of small bucks. I had a 140 class 9 point last season with no shot, shot a mid 120's 10 point three years ago with no recovery but saw him the next day, and killed the buck I did this year all out of the same tree. I can just screw my easy hanger right into the same hole from the last season. LOL
