Remember Your Harness!

That time of year again and I thought I would just say remember your safety systems folks! I had a close call yesterday while trimming a stand and about went off a 20 ft ladder stand! Luckily my arm got caught in the top of the stand, pulled my shoulder muscles pretty bad and bruised up my fore arm but thats pretty minor compared to what could have happened! So for yours and your family sake remember your safety gear friends and good luck this season!

i can't imagine being in a stand without a harness. of course, some folks still don't put on their seatbelt either. so be it.

Do you use them on the job too then Steve?

I have always used a harness in hang on and climbing stands but never really on the ladder stands before. With the shooting rail around I guess can give you a false sense of security possibly. i wear one pretty religioously now but when trimming yesterday I didn't for some reason.

your TMA harnesses that come with your newly purchased stands get pretty big or small to fit just about anyone. I've got maybe five extra and will give one to anyone who doesn't have one. However, I'd recommend getting a nice one that you'll want to wear like from Summit, HSS, or Muddy. harnesses are like seat belts at first they can seem to be a pain, but you get used to wearing it. then you get so it's just something you do regardless.

most people probably climb a treestand with nothing and expect to hook up to the tree when they get to the top. well to make sure you don't slip halfway up and get hooked by one of the steps wear a lineman's belt. if you don't have one look into getting one. a lone wolf hang-on i purchased even came with one, which gives me a whole new respect for Lone Wolf.

I can't imagine how one could not afford to get even the simplest yet completely sufficient harness, but as I said if you're some how that in need then PM me and I'll send you one if I've still got one left.

yes, i do wear one on the job. about every time i get on a roof. if the house is a 1 story i generally don't, as any fall will be 9'. after that, i'm wearing a harness. oops. my harness is in alaska and i need to get on a roof soon. :stretcher:

Don't have one. Places I've been lookin at, They cost so much anymore. And with me not working, I can't get one. Hopefully get another winter Job here soon, and I can get one.

Well if you're in need of one then let me know. I'll give you everything except a lineman's belt. I've only got one of those, but the harness, suspension relief, and tree strap is yours if you need it.
